Someone has to tell you the truth about college, right?
1. There's a good chance you'll change your major.
You may love biology right now but end up graduating with a degree in marketing; you never know what you'll end up loving and college is a great time to explore your options.
2. It just isn't high school.
People are a little more grown up, you have 100 more responsibilities, and the exams actually require studying. (Also, no dress code!)
3. The drama is still there, though.
Same old, same. Expect stupid drama that you can laugh about 5 years from now.
4. The food will get old. Very quickly.
Prepare to eat the same food everyday for the next few years. Prepare for it to be awful.
5. You'll miss your parents.
Remember those people that raised you but also drove you up a wall? Yeah, you'll start to miss them. (Be sure to give them a call because they're probably worried sick about you)
6. You'll get very used to living in a confined space.
So when you come home for breaks, you feel like your room is twice the size you left it at.
7. You'll never underestimate the amount of happiness seeing a dog on campus will bring.
Need I say more?
8. You will never be so broke in your life.
You had more money in your piggy bank at age 8 than you do now.
9. Being sick in a college dorm room may very well be the worst thing to ever happen to you.
You'll miss a cozy couch and homemade soup, trust me.
10. It's going to take time to make your best friends.
Don't expect to bump into girls at a frat party and automatically become the best of friends.
11. Renting textbooks saves a lot of money. But they're still expensive.
If you're planning on selling back your textbooks, also plan on making about 14 dollars.
12. An agenda will save your life.
Write everything down. EVERYTHING.
13. You'll learn how to do laundry.
Your mom will be so proud.
14. You won't look good at your 8 AM.
Don't even try.
