14 Life Lessons From Brooke Davis

If you have ever watched "One Tree Hill," you know exactly how amazing Brooke Davis (Sophia Bush) is. She is the definition of learning life lessons the hard way. With all of the drama and all of the scary events that happened to her, she has taught every girl life lessons that were filled with Brooke Davis sass.

1. The people close to our hearts are the ones to keep.

No matter how much Brooke was a wild child, she always stood close to her best friends. She always defended those she loved and believed in. Whoever has your back, you should have theirs too. Even if it requires you to be a little stern sometimes.

2. Fighting gets us nowhere.

Our lives are consumed with trying to fight others for no reason. If someone brings negativity to our lives, we just need to address it in a mature manner, or let it go, and get it out of our lives. Loving is more worth your time than hating.

3. Be proud of who you are.

If people can't accept who you are and what your morals are, then don't worry about what they say about you. It's how you much you believe in yourself that matters.

4. Whether it's somewhere or someone, you should be happy.

We all need a place to call home and a place that makes us happy. If we don't have that, then it feels like there's something missing in our lives. It doesn't even have to be a place, but if a place in someone's heart is where you are happy, that's the person to keep around.

5. We aren't perfect.

Sometimes people get scared. Sometimes people worry too much about what lies ahead. Sometimes we just need to be told that'll be fine, and then maybe others wouldn't be so scared to love someone a lot.

6. Sometimes our sassy side will inevitably come out.

If you are defending something you believe in, on occasion you just can't help but bring out your sassy side. This just happens every once in awhile, and that's okay!

7. Labels in life are inevitable.

Don't worry about the labels people give you, whether it's your friends, your classmates, your fellow employees, or whomever. What matters is how you handle the labels they have given you.
Are you going to let it affect you? Or are you going to prove them wrong?

8. So many of us feel like we aren't enough.

Don't think you're alone when you feel like you aren't enough for something or someone, but in fact, know that you are enough. Be happy with who you are and know that there isn't someone who's more you than you.

9. She helps guys understand girls' underlying want.

All a girl really wants is someone who loves her and wants her back. If you're in love with each other and by each other's side, what else matters?

10. Life isn't all business.

Live your life, don't let your work consume you. Be with the ones you love and go on adventures! You're only young once.

11. Letting in your future husband is extremely important.

No matter who has screwed up your trust in the past, you need to let your guard down. When it comes to your boyfriend, and you think he could be the one, you need to be able to break down those walls you built and let him in.

12. Diets. Who needs them?

Live your life the way you want and eat as much pasta as you want!

13. Don't wait until something is gone to realize you need it.

If you're with the guy of your dreams, even if it scares you for some reason, don't give that up. It's hard to give something up and then realize you needed it, or them. So don't do it.

14. Being called "my girl" can only make her smile, fellas.

Most girls would not object to being called "my girl," because we see it as you being proud we're yours! Tip to the fellas.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
