13 Times Michael Scott Described Finals Week

When we can't articulate how we feel about a week of exams, we turn to The Office's Michael Scott

Students came back to campus this week after Thanksgiving Break a little more rested and probably still full from a homecooked meal that they'll be daydreaming about for weeks. The idea of relaxed college students sounds so peaceful. But those who are in the midst of it know the reality that is about to be thrust upon them. We are about to be thrown into Finals Week.

Finals week is a tough time. The brain-dead students walking in and out of the library at ungodly hours of the night could scare even the most stable of high schoolers. Yet, this is the norm for us at this point. Because we're putting all our effort into studying (and finding new ways to distract ourselves from studying) we can barely even put into words what we're feeling at this point. This is where good old Michael Scott comes in. Here are 13 times that Michael Scott perfectly described our feelings during finals week.

When the professor jumps posts the study guide the day you get back from Thanksgiving Break.

Then when you look at the study guide your professor posted.

When you drag yourself all the way to the library just to realize you don't have any energy left to actually study.

Walking into class the day of the exam.

Looking at yourself in the mirror after you're sure you just bombed that test.

Then trying to convince yourself everything will be fine!!! You're fine!!

Pumping yourself up for the call to your mom you'll have to make.

How the call to your mom will actually go.

...this one too.

Mourning the presumed decline of your GPA.

Getting on Blackboard just to find out that you actually passed the test.

Realizing you're not a complete failure and that you survived another semester.

Regardless of your final grade, going out later that night with your friends and celebrating the fact that the torture is finally over!

Going into finals week, just remember that you're probably better prepared to take this exam than Michael Scott ever was to manage an office and he survived. Good luck these last couple weeks!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
