Another year, another birthday for our wonderful country!

Amongst the chaos and turmoil, we can all agree on one thing: as Americans, we are blessed with freedoms that most do not have. We have MANY people to thank for these freedoms each and every day, but especially on the 4th of July.

Here are a few things you know to be true if you LOVE Independence Day celebrations:

1. Your patriotism is stronger than ever.

2. Your house, car, front yard, and backyard are covered in decorations.

3. Independence Day parades make you smile from ear to ear.

4. Thinking about the history of July 4th gives you goose bumps.

5. You want to hug everyone who continues to make our freedom possible.

6. You love having an excuse to wear nothing but red, white and blue.

7. The patriotic music. I mean, if you're not screaming Independence Day by Martina McBride or God Bless The USA by Lee Greenwood, is it even the 4th of July??

8. Family and friends unite.

9. The food is just SO FREAKING GOOD.

10. You love seeing all of the patriotic symbols: the American flag, a bald eagle, Uncle Sam, etc.

11. You pray for your country.

12. The fireworks are magical.

13. Everyone is happy!

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
