13 Things to Do When Your Roomies Are Gone for the Weekend

13 Things to Do When Your Roomies Are Gone for the Weekend

OMG! It's those few times throughout the school year where all of your roommates have abandoned you and you have the entire apartment or dorm to yourself! So, what do you do with all this newfound freedom?


1. No Pants

If you're like me and live with your best friend and her significant other, generally you aren't walking around without pants or a shirt on. But, if said roommate and significant other are both out-of-town, then go crazy!


2. Free Reign of the TV

I very rarely get to watch TV when both roommates are home. I'm not complaining by any means, however it does get tiresome (and hurts my eyeballs) to watch Netflix constantly on a tiny computer screen.


3. Do Laundry

Now's the time to do those dirty clothes that have been piling up in your hamper that you've been putting off washing.


4. Take a Nap

You finally have peace and quiet. DON'T SQUANDER IT!


5. Take Over the Living Room

Sure, you have your own room, but here's your chance to move that personal space into the living room. Sprawl out and have all of your meals on the couch for the next few days.


6. Have Your Own Significant Other Come Over to Your Place

Yes, they can come over when your roommates are home, but being confined to your bedroom isn't always the most romantic. Have a nice meal together at the kitchen table you barely use or snuggle on the now-free sofa.


7. Have Your Own Friends Over

No significant other? No problem! Invite a few friends over for some Girl Time or just to hang out. With Halloween just around the corner, pop in a few scary flicks for a fun, fright-filled evening!


8. Sing and Dance Around

If you don't do this while your roomies are gone (or even if they're there and doing it with you) you're a liar.


9. Order the Take Out Food Your Roommates Despise

They aren't there, so why not?


10. Go Grocery Shopping

Then take your sweet time putting everything away (except for the ice cream). There's no pressure of several plastic bags on the counter when no one's there to look at them except for you.


11. Do Homework

Again, you have peace and quiet. DON'T SQUANDER IT!


12. Clean

No one to get in your way and if you have messy roommates, you can put everything away without people getting annoyed.
