College is hard. That’s a simple fact. And, finals, well hell they are even harder. After spending a whole week hunkered down in the library, there’s no better feeling than the shock of having absolutely nothing to do.
1. Shower.
This is the single most important thing you can do following the death trap that is finals week. If you need inspiration, see track 13 of Taylor Swift’s 1989 album.
2. Sleep.
For a long time. It’s completely appropriate to hibernate for a few days (or weeks) after finals.
3. Weep.
This could be because you aced your finals, you flunked your finals, or just because you’re finally realizing McDreamy is never coming back to Seattle Grace.
4. Drink.
Next, you need a celebratory beverage. For best results, get something with a fancy straw and a fruit garnish.
5. Move (back into your parent’s house).
Ah, the best. Nothing is better than sleeping in your old twin bed!
6. Watch.
Now is a good time to finish that Netflix show you started in the middle of the semester. It’s also an even better time to start a completely new one.
7. Eat.
One of, if not the best, perks of being home for the holidays is the home cooked food. It’s nice to have more options than Ramen and Easy Mac.
8. Shop.
If you’re ready to enter back into society, Christmas shopping would be a fun task. But, online shopping is a very viable option.
9. Mope.
The holidays are great for this. Just put on ABC Family, stay in your pajamas and just sit on your couch and rot away all day. It can be surprisingly gratifying.
10. Socialize.
Again, this only works if you’re ready to enter back into society. But, if you are, go for it! It’s always great to catch up with old friends outside of GroupMe
11. Strategize.
Gather your siblings and determine the best strategy for getting the most out of your Christmas holidays. It can take some planning to talk mom out of the matching sweater Christmas card she’d been planning.
12. Celebrate.
With yourself. Your family. Your friends. Your dog. Anyone, really! Holidays are best spent with a few too many cups of eggnog. Be merry!
13. Cherish.
In the fast-paced college life, it’s easy to get lost in the mix of things. Being home for the holidays is the perfect time to remind yourself what matters most. Grab your loved ones and recall the true reason for the season!
