Marist is the best school ever. Each semester brings so much excitement to students, and spring 2016 is no exception. Get ready for the next four months, which are jam packed with so many things to get excited about!

1. "Marist Beach."

We aren't yet sure who the performer(s) will be, but the spring concert is sure to be an event that Marist students do not want to miss.

3. Broadway trips.

What other school gives students the chance to see several world-famous Broadway shows each semester for only $25 each, with free transportation to and from the city? This semester's shows are "Wicked," "Les Miserables," "Book of Mormon," and "The Color Purple." Spending a day with friends in the City and then getting to see an incredible show at such a low cost sounds like a pretty ideal Sunday. (Tip: Get on the "Wicked" ticket sale line several hours early. It is totally worth it.)

4. The new science building.

Even if you don't have classes in there, it's super exciting to see the beautiful new building on campus. It's especially exciting for those of us living in upperclassmen housing to have an academic building on our side of campus. We watched it being constructed all of last semester, and now it's finally done. If only the Rotunda had been renovated this quickly.

5. River Fest/Fox Fest.

Seniors get to look forward to River Fest, which is an event during which they get to party, with professors, down by the Hudson! The rest of us settle for Fox Fest, which is a carnival-type event on the green. Fox Fest has arcade games, a dunking booth, a rock-climbing wall, and, of course, some great Sodexo catering!

6. Eating delicious sandwiches.

Rossi's. Lola's. The Culinary Institute of America. Marist students are blessed to be surrounded by tons of awesome food establishments, all of which serve delicious and extremely photogenic sandwiches. Don't let the semester go by without at least a few trips to these places.

7. Rajiv Surendra's visit.

Yes, the rumors are true. The actor who plays Kevin Gnapoor in "Mean Girls" will be speaking at Marist this semester. If you're even a little bit of a "Mean Girls" fanatic, this is certainly an event to get pumped for.

8. Sledding down the hill.

Take advantage of snowy days by finding a hill on campus and going sledding. Be careful, and don't forget to take basic pictures in the snow with your friends!

9. Flowers all around campus.

There are few things more gorgeous than Marist in the springtime.

10. The Catalina wine mixer.

"Are you going to Catalina?" is a question you'll hear a lot once this event rolls around. Throw on the preppiest outfit you own, and you're good to go!

11. Student performances.

Between the Dance Ensemble spring showcase, MCCTA's production of "A Chorus Line," Marist Singers' "Love in the Afternoon" concert, and several other student productions, the stage will be taken over by several Marist student groups this semester, all of which deserve a great audience! Don't miss out on the many opportunities to see the products of your fellow students' extreme dedication and hard work.

12. Taking last-minute selfies with President Murray.

We're all upset that this is President Murray's final semester at Marist. However, this means we have to take advantage of this semester and take millions of selfies with him!

13. Endless sunsets.

No matter what season it is, a breathtaking sunset over the river is always a sight to see. Be sure to catch the many sunsets of spring 2016!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
