Food in the college world is a colossal trap. Once you get hooked into the unruly eating habits, you're locked in for four, or maybe five, long years. We constantly wish we were never introduced to cheesy bread or Famous Franks' gut busting chilly cheese dogs, but our mouth can no longer resist. The temptation is real and never goes away. Here are some college food facts that we wish we could deny.

1) Ramen and Easy Mac compete weekly to be your best friend.

2) Left over pizza or Insomnia Cookies for breakfast is normal.

3) You learn to improvise. Fries, sausage, bacon, mac and cheese, plus extra melted cheese wedged in-between two pieces of bread, and boom. Meal.

4) When you put an over easy egg on a piece of bread, you feel like you're on the Food Network.

5) Dinner is at 5:30 p.m…and 8:30. And 11:30.

6) The moment of dismay when Jimmy John's already knows your name and address on the other end of phone.

7) Friday mornings are carb heavy.

8) College has made you hate leafy things like salad, fresh fruit and other healthy choices.

9) The low moment when the HotBox pizza man recognizes you on campus. Sorry, I'll tip more next time. Ad

10) Going to a club call-out just for the free pizza is a weekly occurrence.

11) You have a sixth sense that alerts you when it's meal time, even when you aren't hungry. Often times, this sense flares up when you have something important to do.

12) You find yourself doing just about anything for free food.

13) If we bump into each other and you show me food, I'll show you my new best friend.

Our bond with food, strengthened by our college years, is a love-hate relationship. This goes much further than the freshman 15, folks. But when there is such a thing as melted cheese on bread, dipped into more melted cheese and possibly a dab of ranch, how does the world expect us to reject it? I will never abandon you cheesy bread, you've been so good to me.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
