Summer is in full swing and with it comes great things like sunshine and heat, but living in the summer with long hair can be a struggle at times. The internet is full of beautiful models and actresses who are conquering the summer heat while also maintaining beautiful hair. However, no matter what your hair may look like in your cute summer profile picture, all of us with long hair are secretly struggling.
1. The ongoing battle between the humidity and your hair.
You spend so much time and energy on straightening your hair and then the minute you walk outside you look like Hermione Granger in the first two Harry Potter movies.
2. Wanting so badly to look like a mermaid, but not actually succeeding.
Ariel set completely unrealistic hair goals for us all at a young age.
3. Wearing tank tops and having your hair stick to your sweaty shoulders.
Honestly sweating in general is a summertime struggle, but when your nice hair starts to get sweaty and stick to you, it's game over.
4. Riding with the windows down and being blinded.
I'm always so torn between wanting to feel the fresh air and being able to see so that I can drive. The situation gets even more fun if the car is a convertible!
5. Your hair absorbs all the heat from the sun whenever you're outside.
Please do not touch my hair unless you would like second degree burns.
6. None of the cute hairstyles you try stay in.

7. Pool/Beach hair expectations are far off from the reality.
I have never once looked like this while taking my hair out of a ponytail. After a day at the pool or beach my hair is guaranteed to be tangled, salty, and smell like chlorine. Where is the crease in your hair, Amanda??
8. Messy buns are something completely unattainable.
RIP to all of the hair ties who valiantly attempted to hold all of my hair in a messy bun. You will be missed greatly.
9. Your hair captures and traps heat on your neck.
The top layer of my hair may appear to be under control, but there is a lot of scary stuff happening underneath.
10. Having to just wear a ponytail all the time.
You work that up-do!
11. The baseball cap is another fashion staple for the summer.
Hopefully you have a collection of college baseball caps as expansive as Leonardo DiCaprio's, but if not that's also acceptable.
12. Having to blow dry you hair, but almost dying from heat stroke.
This is going to count as my workout for today because of how much I'm sweating.
13. Never regretting having long hair though because it's fab and you know it.
I just need to survive a couple of summer months and then this mane will keep me warm all winter.
