As the winter strikes us hard and quick this January, keep some of these fun snow day activities in mind to make the most out of the day off, granted by the lovely Mother Nature! Roll around in the snow like a 5-year-old if that’s your cup of tea, or stay warm indoors with a literal cup of tea (preferably chai).
1. Make snow cream (including your alcoholic beverage of choice, if you wish).
2. Watch Christmas movies.
We’re not all lucky enough to receive a White Christmas, so why not make one of your own?
3. Snow carving.
Because snowmen are awesome and adorable, but get creative!
4. Read a book.
Pick up an old favorite, or try a new thriller.
5. Go sledding.
A classic.
6. Walk instead of drive.
Essentially, you’re forced to, but it’s also more fun that way.
7. Bake snowman shaped gingerbread or sugar cookies.
8. Build a snow fort!
Or an igloo!
9. Color the snow.
Mix water and food coloring. You’re good to go!
10. Make a line of snow angels.
And bring friends!
11. Journal.
Snow day blues? Write about it.
12. Snowball fight!
Because what’s a snow day without a snowball fight? (Snow baseball for a safer alternative).
13. Snowflake gazing.
Place a black sheet of paper in the freezer for 20 minutes, then take it outside and set it on the ground. Use a magnifying glass to observe the unmelted, unique snowflakes!
