There is this little old town right outside of New Jersey's state capital that goes by the name of Ewing. It's a town known for sports, drama, and a place where everyone knows everyone. I have lived here a whole 18 years and finally left home for school. There is something distinct about this oddly charming little town that Ewing residents can agree with.
1. When someone asks you where you're from, you say Trenton since no one has ever heard of Ewing.
The truth is, unless you live near Ewing or are from New Jersey, no one will ever know where Ewing is.
2. You see everyone and their mothers at the local CVS or Shop Rite.
Literally EVERYONE and their mothers.
3. If you're ever craving pizza, you can go to any one of the 15+ pizza places in town.
You can never have enough pizza, am I right? From Villa Rosa to Red Star, all the way to Kings Pizza and Parkway Pizza and many more, there is always some place you can stop for a slice.
4. If you ever need a ride, you better hope you aren't in Mountain View.
Or you better hope you have friends in your neighborhood if you live in Mountain View that can help you out.
5. Everyone knows Ewing High Basketball is bringing their A game.
It's a known thing. Especially with the awesome high school coach running the show.
6. After a football or basketball game, the Diner is always the move afterwards.
Or after any event that ends late. Thank you for 24-hour service.
7. Halo Farm.
It's a drive but for their ice cream...so worth it.
8. New York Bagel or RJ's Bagel?
THAT is the question....
9. There's a difference between the kids who went to Lore, Antheil, and Parkway.
Lore School will always rule. Sorry not sorry.
10. Everyone knows everyone's business.
If there is one thing this town is especially known for, it's for gossip without a doubt. Everyone has to stick their opinion where it isn't needed.
11. You always find yourself asking "what am I going to do tonight?"
12. The answer is: nothing because there is nothing to do in Ewing.
Pretty much a total snooze-fest on weekends.
13. The new restaurant additions to The College of New Jersey are the best things that have happened in town.
Thank you for the drive-thru Panera, you have saved my life.
