Bloomfield Hills. Eight miles from 8 Mile and lovin' every minute of it. Whether you spent your whole childhood on the mean streets of the 248, or even if you only spent a few years here, you have experienced "Bloomfield Bubble" and it has stayed with you. Here are 13 signs why the Bubble will always be apart of your life:
1. When people ask where you’re from, you say you're from Detroit.
However, we're just a suburb of Detroit - barely.
2. You know that the go to for cheap, fast and good food will always be Leo's Coney Island.
And there's no reason to look at the menu because you know your order by heart.
3. If you're in need of some coffee, you know that there is a Starbucks less than three miles from you, no matter where you are.
And you know you'll probably be late because of the lines.
4. Because there is no downtown part of Bloomfield, you spent your nights walking the streets of Birmingham.
But we all know Bloomfield will always be better than Birmingham.
5. You attended some of the best schools in the state.
Can't really beat number one.
6. The rivalry between Lahser and Andover will truly never die.
"#LKOD" "#ABOD"
7. The high school parking lots looked more like jeep and luxury car lots rather than a typical school lot.
The more expensive the car, the worse the parking job.
8. Although it was a long time in the making, the new Bloomfield Hills High School building is pretty amazing.
With the courtyard, the fireplace, the learning communities and the state of the art bump out rooms, it's finally the school Bloomfield Hills deserves.
9. You know that cops are always waiting on Lahser road., Telegraph and Long Lake and Quarton road.
It would be best to drive a little under the speed limit, even though you definitely don't.
10. There are some nice houses in the area.
Some really nice houses.
11. It's not uncommon to spot famous people around town.
In fact people like Robin Williams, Mitt Romney, Gordie Howe, Roger Penske and many others were born in Bloomfield.
12. You spent your summers up north or on one of the many lakes in the area.
And if you didn't live on a lake, you knew someone who did.
13. You made some of your best friends in this city and it gave you some amazing opportunities.
You enjoyed walking the grounds of Cranbrook; attending high school football games with friends and enjoyed fall, winter, spring and summer, even if all in one day (thanks Michigan weather). Even though you may have had a love-hate relationship with Bloomfield Hills, you know it will always be home.
Oh, and you understand that the "Bloomfield Bubble" is very real.
