1. “Roll down your skirt”
There weren’t any boys around to impress, but everyone still insisted on wearing their skirts shorter than they needed to.
2. The ruler
There was always that one teacher that brought out the dreaded ruler on random days to see if your skirt was less than 3 inches above the knee. *commence the quick unrolling of your skirt*
4. You eat constantly with potlucks everywhere, literally at every corner. You blame your school for your newfound MASSIVE appetite.
Every holiday, no matter how irrelevant, was a good enough reason for a potluck. The girl in your math class that you’ve only talked to a couple times? HEY, WE SHOULD CELEBRATE HER BIRTHDAY WITH A POTLUCK.
5. Never having to do your makeup
Accidentally sleep in too late? No worries! Just throw your skirt on and a sweatshirt (feel free to ditch the bra for the day) and go. Makeup just really isn’t a part of your routine anymore, and it's pretty glorious.
6. If you did do your makeup, everyone asked what you were doing after school and assumed there was a boy involved
Even if you just woke up early and felt like looking nice, nope there has to be a reason for your face to look nice and all made up. And, let’s be honest, there's always a boy involved if your face is looking that fresh AMIRITE LADIES?
7. Sports practice after school? Just change in the quad. We’re all girls anyways.
You can always expect to walk down the stairs after school is out to see half the girls you know changing from their white polo to a t-shirt. Sure, there's a locker room but eh, too far and a little unnecessary.
8. “So like are there a lot of lesbians at your school?”
Don’t even get me started on this one.
9. No shave November turns into a competition to see which girl can go the longest without shaving her legs.
No shave November? More like no shave ever.
10. All you really did during class and mass time was braid hair.
Then unbraid it and braid again and then maybe try a different braid and then try a ponytail and then a bun and then two buns and then two pigtails until you’ve tried every hairstyle on the same girl in that one period of time.
11. You mastered the messy bun.
As a Freshman, you probably did the same bun over and over again until you got it right. Now, you just throw it up and you look effortlessly flawless. WERK THAT MESSY BUN, GURL.
12. So many traditions. And you love and celebrate every single one of them, no matter how silly they may seem.
The traditions that happen at an all-girl school are what make the schools and bonds between the students magical. It doesn't matter what grade you're in or what talents you have, you can connect with every girl you meet at school, and these undying traditions make that possible.
13. You met all sorts of young women--smart, artistic, funny, independent, brainy, athletic--and they all changed your life in some way. Your appreciation for your girlfriends skyrockets when you go to an all-girl school, and the bonds you make with them are unlike any other.
