Memorial Day is right around the corner. Although this day is dedicated to commemorating and honoring the brave individuals willing to give their lives for this country, retailers around the country frequently offer tremendous discounts to shoppers throughout the weekend. Here is a list of 13 sales to check out this weekend, if your Memorial Day plans include shopping.

1. Victoria's Secret.

Take a 30 percent off all swimwear and coverups with the promo code SAVE30SWIM.

2. Express.

Express is offering a 40 percent discount on almost all of their merchandise through May 31.

3. Free People.

Take an additional 25 percent off sale items at Free People from now until Monday, no promo code needed.


4. Forever 21.

Forever 21 will be offering an extra 30 percent off all sale merchandise throughout the weekend with the promo code EXTRA30.

5. Macy's.

From now to Monday, Macy's will be offering discounts on many of their departments, for using the promo code MEMDAY. Although the actual discounts vary according to department, there are a number of great deals, including 25 percent off clearance.

6. For Love and Lemons.

This Memorial Day, For Love and Lemons will be offering an additional 30 percent off all sales merchandise with the promo code XTRA30.

7. Old Navy.

All tank tops, tees, shorts and swim are 50 percent off at Old Navy. No promo code needed.

8. Dick's Sporting Goods.

Because new work out gear is always a necessity. Dick's Sporting Goods is having a number sales throughout the weekend, with as much as 50 percent off departments.

9. Nasty Gal.

Throughout the weekend, Nasty Gal will be offering an extra 40 percent off sales merchandise, no promo code necessary.

10. Banana Republic.

Banana Republic will be giving shoppers an additional 40 percent on all apparel and accessories, just enter BRTAKE40 when you check out.

11. Wildfox.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
