Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales was more amazing than I imagined it would be, which wasn't hard considering the negatively surrounding the film but avast! The film was an exceptionally good pirate adventure that brought back a lot of the fun, action, comedy, and characters from the original trilogy. The familiar soundtrack music and revived story arcs made this movie a beautiful addition to the series which I wholeheartedly love. Here are 13 reasons to see the movie, featuring minor spoilers.

1. The Will Turner opening scene.

After waiting ten years to see Will Turner's fate, the film's opening scenes feature a barnacle faced Will Turner meeting his son who existed during the At World's End post-credit scene. This set the excitement level for the rest of the story to see what happened to the original characters.

2. The new characters Henry and Carina

Will Turner's child, Henry, searches for Poseidon's Trident to break his father's curse as a Navy sailor. Carina is the other addition to the main trio. She is an astronomer who leads them to the Trident and is involved in a heartwarming plot twist.

3. Jack is back.

Captain Jack Sparrow is back with his latest scheme and witty humor.

4. The compass.

Always an interesting artifact, Jack's infamous compass that doesn't point north sets the plot into motion.

5. Captain Barbossa

Captain Barbossa is also back and acts more like a pirate than the fourth movie! He changes looks a few times throughout the movie and is still ever the likable double-crossing pirate.

6. Captain Salazar

The villain is a Spanish Navy Captain who despises pirates and was unfortunate enough to meet Jack Sparrow as a cocky, young sailor. Now he hunts Jack for revenge.

7. Young Jack

Jack's flashback backstory was my favorite part. It was interesting to learn about his past and a good tribute explaining all the bits and bobs that adorn his costume. And if you're wondering how they made Johnny Depp look that young again, it was done by CGI technology, aka movie magic!

8. The many daring escapes

It wouldn't be the same without several of the crazy escapes Jack makes with the help of his crew, includingGibbs and the monkey, which are adorned with humor, clever action, and lucky near misses.

9. The ocean views.

I would be lying if I said I also didn't love the movies for the scenery. The ocean and island views are beautiful, and now I would like to go on vacation immediately.

10. Humor

Although there is pirating and double crossing, there is a lot of amusing lighthearted humor.

11. The Black Pearl

The Black Pearl is in a bottle nearly the whole time but makes a full grown appearance when it counts.

12. Amazing cinematography.

Beautiful imagery always make movies so much better, but this part where the ocean parted was amazing.

13. The ending

Will Turner came back. Captain Jack Sparrow sails away on the Black Pearl. All is good until...

It becomes even better! Elizabeth Swann, excuse me, Elizabeth Turner makes a heartwarming appearance and it is the greatest ending I could have ever imagined.

The strong ending made the movie even better. All the story lines were tied up into beautiful endings for each character. However, there is a bit of hope for even more Pirates adventures because of a possible lead to a future movie during the post credit scenes, which features Will and Elizabeth together again.

The Pirates of the Caribbean movies have been my favorite for so long, so I love when new movies are made. Movies are meant to be entertaining and that's what this one did. Dead Men Tell No Tales is exceptionally good in reviving the original tone of the charming, witty, pirate-y adventures.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
