13 Reasons I'm A Daddy's Girl
Brianna Buck

From as early as I could remember, I've been a Daddy's girl. As a little girl I would sit and watch NASCAR with you and we would take naps together. Since your 50th birthday is coming up, this article is dedicated to you Daddy!

1. You'll always be my number one supporter.

This holds true on it's own. No matter what you support me in everything I do (even if I don't make the greatest of decisions at times).

2. You have great taste in music.

I like to think this is my doing, but I came from you so it's definitely all you.

3. I do, however, take credit for introducing you to All Time Low.

And I'm so thankful that you ended up liking them as much as I do.

4. I would choose you as a concert buddy over anyone any day.

And you know it.

5. I like sports because of you.

I probably would not care about certain teams as much if it weren't for you.

6. You have unique hobbies.

Fishing isn't necessarily unique, but I think it's really cool that you're into it. So I want to get into it too!

7. Your sense of humor is so crude.

And I LOVE it!

8. You teach me new things every day.

As bored as I am to figure out how to fix my own car, I can't thank you enough for this knowledge.

9. You're the master of multitasking.

So thank you for teaching me that too.

10. You're the reason I love the Jersey Shore so much.

Makes it hard for me to consider ever leaving the shore.

11. You're the ultimate chef.

Now I'm craving some of your shrimp scampi.

12. You'll never understand how thankful I am that you work around the corner.

Or, well, New Brunswick isn't necessarily around the corner from Rider, but thanks so much for working over there because it makes me feel a little less homesick when I remember you're right there.

13. Your smile is contagious.

You always know how to make people laugh and I'm honored that I'm your daughter.

Happy 50th Birthday Daddy! I love you forever and always and will ALWAYS be your girl.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
