Every older sibling knows what it’s like when your younger sibling arrives. They’re tiny and cute, but they cry a lot and their diapers stink. Then a few years later, they’re stealing your clothes and somehow always getting into your business. In the blink of an eye, they grow up, and you find yourself remembering when you were their age. You go from arguing over who’s breathing too loud to insisting on finding out who the class bully is so you can go beat them up.

1. After all, you’re the only one who’s allowed to fight with your sibling.

Anyone else is going to have to deal with you, and you almost definitely have the height advantage.

2. You realized a long time ago that your younger sibling can get away with a lot more than you ever could.

There was a time when forgetting to do part of your homework was a capital crime.

3. You're supposed to be an example for them, which means you're not allowed to start arguments.

"He started it!" does not fly. Ever.

4. Because they're younger than you, and quite adorable, so they can get away with anything.

They may look like innocent angels, but you know better.

5. You had to beg for years to get a cell phone, but they get theirs years before you did.

What do they need a cell phone for at that age?!

6. When you watch them make a mistake you once made but they don't listen to you.

And you can tell it's going to end just as badly.

7. When you cover for each other.

Siblings have to stick together.

8. When they hit the double digits and you realize you're getting old.

Not that old, but you could've sworn it was your tenth birthday a minute ago.

9. Suddenly they're hitting all kinds of milestones.

They're getting into their top choice schools and totally killing all their extracurriculars.

10. You couldn't be prouder of their all accomplishments.

You're the most embarrassing family member at all their graduation/school plays/etc, loudly cheering them on.

11. As they get older, you share interests, secrets, and tips on crushes and surviving high school.

Even though getting them to hang out with you can still feel like pulling teeth.

12. They still drive you crazy all the time.

But that's what siblings do.

13. In the end, you wouldn't trade them for anything in the world.

Despite all the fighting, you love them more than words can say.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
