The season has changed, the pumpkin spice has emerged, and it's officially Halloween month. While that's not the normal name for October, I feel it's a very appropriate name. Halloween is probably my favorite holiday of all time, if you couldn't tell already. I love everything about fall, but Halloween definitley takes the cake.
While there are hundreds of these types of articles, I feel it's only appropriate that I throw my two sense into the ring. So without further ado, here is my list of much watch Halloween movies for this holiday season.
Halloween Town
While this may seem childish, this is probably my favorite Halloween movie all time. Well one of them. It's from the golden era of Disney Channel movies and it's just perfect. If you've never seen it, I feel like you need to see it.
Also, the second one is just as good (and it's my personal favorite). The third is like kind of okay....but the fourth shouldn't exist.
Hocus Pocus
This is a classic Halloween movie, it's not really scary but when I was a kid man this wigged me out. It's witty and fantastic.
Beetlejuice
In my opinion, this is one of Tim Burton's best films. Like ever. It's raunchy and funny and so beautifully made. If for some reason you've never seen this, than you need to stop whatever you're doing and watch it.
Nightmare on Elm Street
This is a classic horror movie. One of the first of the slasher flicks. This is a must watch. While I advice you seen the originals, I didn't mind the remakes either.
Halloween
Come on, this is self explanatory. Although I would only watch the first couple, they kind of get repetitive after awhile.
The Nightmare Before Christmas
In my house, this movie is played from October to January. It's the perfect mix of Christmas and Halloween and is appropriate for all holiday parties this season. Plus it's Tim Burton and Danny Elfman, so therefore the music is amazing and the animation is great.
Sinister
This is one of my favorite horror movies. The story is so good and so different. It's scary in a nontraditional way. It's also beautifully done.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Now stay with me here, while this may not necessarily be a "Halloween" movie. I see no better time than this month than to binge watch this movie. Come on, they interactive screenings of this movie around Halloween. How dope is that? Plus the songs are so catchy.
The Lost Boys
This 80's vampire movie is everything! It's a punk rock vampire fantasy and there's been numerous times that I wish
Scream
Again, another iconic slasher flick. It changed the way a horror movie was set up and "broke" the rules in the later movies. Plus, the MTV show is just as good.
The Addam's Family Values
While, there are numerous Addam's family movies and they're all great this one happens to be my favorite. I love the antics at the summer camp and Wednesday Addams just gives me life. It's a must see.
The Conjuring
In my opinion, this is one of the best new horror movies to come out. It's terrifying but interesting and the story line is so good. It's based off true events and they do such a good job at portraying the events in a cinematic way.
Sweeney Todd
Now, you might try to argue that this isn't a Halloween movie but what's more Halloween-y than a musical about slitting someone's throat? Not a lot. It's campy and dark and has Johnny Depp in it. There's not much more you can ask for.
