Lana Del Rey, also known as Lizzy Grant, has continued to be one of my favorite musicians. Her lyrics are soothing and thought-provoking. She may not be a mainstream artist, but her songs are relatable and they will stand the test of time. Some of her more popular songs include, “Summertime Sadness,” “Blue Jeans,” “Video Games,” and “Born to Die.” Some of the lyrics that follow are ones that I resonate with, but they can be used for any situation. It was difficult to narrow down my favorites into a comprehensive list, but here are some of her most resonating lyrics that would work nicely as captions on Instagram or simply as quotations.

1. "Gods and Monsters"

"In the land of gods and monsters / I was an angel / Living in the garden of evil / Screwed up, scared, doing anything that I needed / Shining like a fiery beacon."

2. "Shades of Cool"

"He loves his baby, too / But I can't fix him, can't make him better / And I can't do nothing about his strange weather / But you are unfixable / I can't break through your world / 'Cause you live in shades of cool / Your heart is unbreakable."

3. "Ultraviolence"

"He used to call me DN / That stood for deadly nightshade / 'Cause I was filled with poison / But blessed with beauty and rage."

4. "Born to Die"

"Feet don't fail me now / Take me to the finish line / Oh, my heart it breaks every step that I take / But I'm hoping at the gates, / They'll tell me that you're mine."

5. "Born to Die"

"Sometimes love is not enough and the road gets tough / I don't know why."

6. "Dark Paradise"

"Loving you forever, can't be wrong / Even though you're not here, won't move on."

7. "Dark Paradise"

"And there's no remedy / For memory / Your face is like a melody, / It won't leave my head / Your soul is haunting me / And telling me / That everything is fine."

8. "Freak"

"Flames so hot that they turn blue / Palms reflecting in your eyes, like an endless summer / That's the way I feel for you / If time stood still, I'd take this moment / Make it last forever."

9. "Freak"

"Come to California / Be a freak like me, too / Screw your anonymity / Loving me is all you need to feel / Like I do."

10. "Black Beauty"

"Life is beautiful, but you don't have a clue / Sun and ocean blue / Their magnificence, it don't make sense to you / Black beauty."

11. "Pawn Shop Blues"

"I can do this once more / No man can keep me together / Been broken since I was born."

12. "Pawn Shop Blues"

"In the name of higher consciousness / I let the best man I knew go / 'Cause it's nice to love and be loved / But it's better to know all you can know / I said it's nice to love and be loved / But I'd rather know what God knows."

13. "Radio"

"Their heavy words can't bring me down / Boy I've been raised from the dead / No one even knows how hard life was / I don't even think about it now because / I finally found you."

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
