It's that time of the year again where college students are making their way home for the holidays. There is always a process that needs to get done before you actually arrive home. Here are 13 things you do to get ready for the trip home and the actual trip home.
1. Packing.
Packing can be a lot, if you go to school in the South like me, then you are used to the warm weather. When you have to go home for the cold, it can be a bit of an adjustment to pack for. It's also very stressful because if you are like me then you wait till the last minute to do everything.
2. Printing out your ticket for the flight home.
Printing out the ticket means that you are only a few short hours away from being able to go home and see your family.
3. Getting to the airport.
You either have to take a taxi or have a friend drive you, either way this short drive means the world to you.
4. Check-in.
It is now time to get your bag checked and go through airport security.
5. Waiting for the plane.
This is the longest wait of them all. Mostly because you know that in 2 hours or less you will be reunited with your family.
6. Boarding time.
You have finally boarded the plane and have sat down next to a complete stranger, but its okay because, did we mention, WE ARE GOING HOME!
7. Take off.
If you are anything like me then you know that take off and landing are super scary, but once we are in the air everything is okay.
8. The plane ride.
If you are just to excited you might stay up the whole time but if you are like me then you pass out right after take off.
9. Landing.
Time to get off the plane and get your bags!
10. Baggage claim.
Is that my bag?...Was it always this heavy?
11. MOM, DAD!
When your parents pick you up>>
12. The car ride home.
This is the catching up time and the one million questions you get about how school was.
13. Home.
You have made it home and you are reunited with your siblings and pets and nothing feels better than being home.
