Fall is my favorite season for a lot of reasons. I know this isn't a very popular opinion -- fall is cold, we have to say farewell to summer, and it's the season before the "miserable grey months" of winter begin. But there a few things everyone seems to agree are great about fall.
1. Sweater weather

I don't think I know a single human being, male or female, that doesn't love sweater weather. Sweaters are easily the best category of clothing, and can be super fun -- but it has to be cold enough to wear them, making fall the perfect sweater weather season.
2. Flannels

Personally, I wear flannels year round. It's a habit that came with being a camp counselor in Pennsylvania, but it's not one I'm looking to break any time soon. For the rest of the world, though, flannels belong in the fall. Girls wear them with scarves and vests, and it looks very cute. And guys in flannels... y'all, you know what I'm talking about. Especially if they have a beard.
3. Apple picking

Cutest thing ever. Whether you go with your girlfriends or your significant other, apple picking provides tons of cute photo-ops, and the best part is you get all kinds of great apple stuff out of it, like 18 pounds of apples, 12 apple cider donuts, or a gallon of apple cider. But that's just a rough guess.
4. Any kind of picking, actually

Strawberry picking and other kinds of berries are definitely a summer thing, and a lot of fun if you don't mind bending over for a few hours. Fall harvest season is a little easier on the spine and a lot more fun. Pumpkins, gourds, corn, and apples are all super fun to pick, and most importantly play a vital role in the next thing.
5. Fall treats

Pumpkin pie, apple pie, cobbler, caramel apples, pumpkin spice everything, apple cider, corn on the cob, corn bread -- the list is endless. Everyone loves fall treats, especially when it's getting really chilly outside. Satisfying your sweet tooth and warming you from the inside out, all at once.
6. Fall colors

Fall colors are beautiful, especially the leaves on the tress. The bright reds, oranges, yellows and even the browns make fall seem like the most beautiful season of the year. It's also the time of year where burgundy, maroon, navy, and all the deep jewel tones come back to play a prominent role in fashion, and I love it.
7. Halloween

Costumes, candy, parties, and movies -- who could ask for more in a holiday? As bummed as we all are that we can't go trick-or-treating any more, we make our own versions of fun for the holiday -- and all the candy gets super cheap on Nov.1.
8. Thanksgiving

I love this holiday. Taking time to look back over the year and see all of the things that you can be thankful for, big and small, makes my heart so full. Getting to share those moments, and a huge meal, with everyone you love and care about only makes it that much sweeter.
9. Bonfires

With things cooling down and drying out, bonfires are even better in the fall. Just thinking about them makes me feel all warm and cozy.
10. S'mores

Traditionally a summer treat, s'mores in the fall are great for the same reasons bonfires in the fall are great.
11. Pumpkin carving

Yet another cute idea, with whoever you want to do it with. And a good way to bond -- it's messy, it's goofy, and no one I know has amazing skill with a carving knife, so we get to pick on each other, too.
12. Corn mazes.

Even the not-scary ones. They're surprisingly difficult, and as the light gets dimmer, getting through the maze gets even more intense (especially if you have friends that like to scare you).
13. The cold

This one seems counterintuitive, but how many people can say that they haven't used "It's too cold outside" as an excuse to stay in and watch Netflix under the covers with a cup of hot cider?
