There are few creatures as complex as the average college student. You never know what to expect from the whirlwind of college or what effects it may have on the humans that inhabit it. Here's just a very few of the telltale signs you're one of the mysterious beings known as college students.
1. You're in a perpetual state of exhaustion.
Classes. Sports. Theater. Homework. Projects. Internships. It'll wear you down no matter how much sleep you might be able to get... if any.
2. Your to-do list gets longer and longer and longer...
Just as you cross off one thing, your professor emails you and there's five new things to add.
3. You give up on adulthood at least 10 times a day.
No one said it was going to be this hard! I'm out!
4. You want to skip class, but you also want to go to class.
If you don't go you can relax, but you also can't relax because what if you miss something super important that causes you to fail the class?!
5. You skip class to catch up on another class.
When you finally give into your impulse to skip class it's only so you can catch up on work for another class.
6. You drink more coffee than water.
In fact you're pretty sure you're not 70 pecent water, but you're 70 percent coffee.
7. You pull all-nighters way too often.
Sometimes getting stuff done takes all night, sometimes it takes all night several nights in a row... which is why number six is a thing.
8. You think free food is the best food.
You're always on a budget and always you're hungry soooooo....
9. You are constantly confused.
Adulting is confusing, class is confusing, emotions are confusing; everything is confusing!
10. You nap wherever you can.
No one is judging you; they're just jealous you found the time.
11. You can't and can wait for summer.
The sooner summer comes the sooner you're free! But the closer summer is the closer finals week is... it's a lot of ups and downs of excitement and fear.
12. You're having the time of your life.
Despite all the stress and hardships and the scary thought of the future you've got a hopeful attitude and great friends. Life is crazy and that's a great thing.
No matter what phase of college you're in; freshman to senior, we're all glad to be here. It's an opportunity to better ourselves and learn so many valuable things-- even if it's not always partying and chilling. College is a gift and we all know it. Enjoy it.
