12 Ways Mindy Kaling Is Actually A College Girl

Mindy Kaling is one of the most relatable, female characters on television right now. While playing herself in her hit show, "The Mindy Project," she has managed to hit the nail on the head when it comes to things we all think, say, and do, as college girls. Mindy embodies everything that us college girls can relate too, and that's why Mindy Kaling is actually a college girl.

1. She knows what it's like to wake up from a questionable night out.

We've all been there, and her attitude falls directly in line with how all of us have felt after totally and completely humiliating ourselves in a public setting.

2. She gets the pain of making new friends too late in the game.

Nothing bums a college girl out like meeting super cool new people right at the end of your senior year before graduation.

3. Her social media obsession is out of control.

You're kidding if you think a college girl is going to go out and not post multiple Snapchat stories or update her loyal followers on Instagram. Therefore, WiFi is always a necessity.

4. She's definitely not a morning person.

You know that saying. "You can sleep when you're dead?" Wrong, college girls need sleep now and forever, and sleeping until 11 a.m. or even 1 p.m. is a recurring incident during weekends.

5. She enjoys a good bottle glass of wine and Netflix session.

Drinking wine and binging on Netflix is just another day in the life for a college girl and even a preferred activity to going out on some occasions.

6. She always expects an invitation.

There's a reason the abbreviation, "TFTI: Thanks for the invite" was invented, and is passive aggressively sent in college girl's group messages on a regular basis.

7. She gets the drunchies.

Boy are they real, and we get them pretty much every time we go out, even if we promised ourselves we wouldn't drunk eat Taco Bell or order an entire large pizza this time.

8. She knows exactly how to deal with a break up.

Alcohol, food and TV are the three essentials every girl needs when they're going through a rough time.

9. She gets how our brains work when it comes to the men in our lives.

We can't help it, it's like it's in our genetics to try and change all of the boys we meet in college. For some reason, we think we can turn our player, weekend only hook ups into true, committed boyfriends, but honestly who are we kidding? At least, Mindy gets the way we think.

10. She has the perfect attitude when it comes to going out.

We've all gotten ready for a night out knowing in the back of our minds that we're probably going to be a mess, but, at least, we'll be looking darn good doing it!

11. She realizes she's not good with peer pressure.

How many times have we told ourselves, and all of our friends that we weren't going to drink on a Tuesday, but have somehow been peer pressured into doing it anyways? It's about time someone recognized this undeniable flaw.

12. She's constantly working on bettering herself.

College girls love to talk about going to the gym and eating healthier, even if they aren't actually doing it. We're always trying to be the best version of ourselves we possibly can be.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
