I am the mom of my friend group and I am proud of it. You may be the mom of your friend group if you do any of these 12 things.

1. Your purse looks like a mom's.

You may be the mom of your group if your purse looks like a bunch of junk inside. It is also really heavy from carrying all of the stuff in it.

2. You are prepared for every emergency with what's in your purse.

You may be the mom of your group if your heavy purse contains everything under the sun. You are super prepared with band-aids, Advil, alcohol wipes, hand sanitizer, some type of gum and a bunch of snacks. If it came down to it, you could survive for days just based off of these supplies.

3. Your friends ask you for this emergency stuff.

Since your friends know that you have all of this stuff, they are constantly asking you for it. They just aren't prepared for life honestly if they do.

4. They ask to borrow money a lot. But they do pay it back.

For some reason, once you are labeled as a mother, your friends will find the need to ask you for money since you always carry it on you. Except unlike they do to their real mothers, they actually pay you back.

5. They will ask you for your "motherly advice."

Often times, since your friends think you are responsible, they think that it is okay to ask you really big life questions. These questions might include anything from the topic of sex to how to eat more healthy.

6. They most likely won't ask you to go out with them because you are boring.

More likely than not, your friends will not ask you to go out with them since you remind them of a mom. Meaning your definition of fun is to go to sewing circles and staying up past 10.

7. When you do go out with them you act like a mother.

Sometimes they feel brave and ask you to go out with them because they feel badly that they haven't in a while. They are soon reminded that going out with you means that it will be a evening of you telling them what not to do.

8. You try to embarrass them in front of their other friends and significant other.

One of your key roles in being the mom of the group is to constantly embarrass your children when they are with other people by telling them stories of what happened when they made that dumb decision.

9. They will ask you to help them get out of their problems.

If you are the mom of the group, it is not uncommon to get a drunk call from of the friends to say they did something really dumb. It is now up to you to help them get out of it whether you like it or not because you feel responsible somehow.

10. You care about them so much, it creeps them out sometimes.

You caring about your friends often creeps them out because you do in fact act like a second mother to them.

11. You wipe the tables down at restaurants because you think they are very dirty.

Classic sign of being the mom here is that you take a wipe and then wipe down the whole table, because mom's are afraid of you getting sick.

12. They even call you mom.

You know that you have fully embraced the mom lifestyle when you get called "mom" by your friends.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
