Being a girl with thick, curly hair there are some things people say that you have heard hundreds of times throughout your life. Here is a list of 12 things everyone with curly hair hears (probably on a regular basis).
1. "Wow, you're hair is so curly, is it natural?"
Yes, it is natural and it is not a perm.
2. "You have so much hair, how do you style it?"
With much frustration and tons of hairspray. When it won't cooperate we know we can't go wrong with a nice braid or bun. The worst is when we try to use bobby pins and they somehow disappear in our hair and it takes forever to find them.
3. "Can I touch it?"
When people ask if they can touch our hair we probably say yes to not be a mean person. On the outside we're calm, but on the inside all we can think about is how many knots it's going to cause and how frizzy it's going to get.
4. "Do you ever think about straightening it?"
*tries not to scream*
Yeah, I've straightened it a few times before
5. "How long does it take you to straighten?"
At least two hours. Which is why we don't do it often.
6. "Wow, two hours!? Mine only takes 10 minutes!"
7. "It's so fun to see the curls spring back up after I pull them!"
I truly don't mind this one. I'm glad my hair in providing you with entertainment, boing away.
8. "I know this great salon you should go to!"
Oh no, you don't understand. Most salons cannot handle my hair.
9. "Wow, you own so many hair products!"
Honestly, I have probably tried every product out there to try and tame my hair. So I need to combine a few to get my hair just right.
10. "Yeah, my hair frizzes too."
It actually pains me when people compare their frizz to mine.
11. "Wait, you don't brush it every day?"
Ha, no not a chance. It is almost impossible to brush it everyday. If we did, this would be the result and nobody wants to deal with that
12. "I wish I had your curly hair."
This is my favorite one. It's flattering that someone likes your hair that much. But, I really doubt anyone wants thick, curly, frizzy hair.
All in all, I love my hair and wouldn't want to change it for anything!
