12 Things That Happen When You Move In to a New Apartment

The first week of August has just passed us, meaning one thing: thousands of college students just signed leases to their new apartments. Upon move in day, the following is bound to occur.

1) You arrive at your home for the next 12 months. Everything is so magical and new. You race to your new bedroom and immediately begin mentally placing your bedroom furniture.

2) After taking a quick lap around the house, you head to target to shop for some kitchen basics and organization essentials.

3) Once you arrive at Target, you realize that you need way more than you thought you did. Before you know it, your cart is halfway full and you haven't even gotten to the home appliance section.

4) While you're here, you hop on your Pinterest to see if any of your "dream bedroom" pins can be made a reality. After about 15 minutes, you realize that you don't own a power drill or the patience to attempt anything.

5) You've finally grabbed all of the essentials and head to the register. After seeing the total, you decide to swipe your credit instead of the debit card.

6) You get back to your new place and unload everything. You're so excited to set up, you almost forget you have roommates whose opinions kind of matter.

7) Your bedroom furniture finally arrives. Two hours and four sweaty men later, everything is in place and ready to be decorated.

8) You make your bed and begin to place your clothes in your dresser. You realize that 6 drawers aren't enough and you probably should have a few more full sized pillows instead of all of the decorative ones.

9) After a few more minutes of frustrated moving, you decide to give up and head to Chipotle.

10) Full of carbs and satisfaction, you head back home, determined to finished moving in.

11) Once you're back in your bedroom, you pick up where you left off. Before you know it, you've put the last empty box in the garage and can finally return to your room, satisfied with your hard work.

12) You lay down on your bed, proud of today's accomplishments. Soon after, you realized that you still haven't done the rest of the apartment. Instead of finding the motivation to do it, you decide to take a nap in your freshly made bed and call it a day. I mean, you have all year, right?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
