It has been said over and over again; our friends are the ones that help us get through tough times and rejoice with us in the good ones. They support, love and comfort you when you need it most. College is tough...like really, really tough.

Hours upon hours of homework, internships, jobs, relationships, exams, labs and trying to maintain a somewhat consistent sleep schedule consume most our energy that it's a little difficult to try to manage it alone. And since coming to college, I've managed to find something a little more special than just some really good friends. I've found my true girl squad.

What is a girl squad exactly? They're your people. Your tribe. The girls you go to for anything, whether it's which selfie to post, which outfit to buy, what to say when you get a message on Tinder or even just some positive vibes before something major. My girls get me through everything, and they sure don't get enough credit for doing it.

My girl squad...this one's for y'all.

1. Thank you for never saying no to food. Especially if it's 2 am and I just really want chicken nuggets.

2. Thank you for hyping me up when I need it because Lord knows I wouldn't feel as confident without it.

3. Thank you for the GIFs. I don't think I need to even go into detail with that one.

4. Thank you for our GroupMe. A normal person would probably pass out if they read even a little bit of our conversations.

5. Thank you for supporting me always; especially after I've changed my major five times and still question if I'm in the right program.

6. Thank you for thinking of just the right thing to say when I can't get the words quite right.

7. Thank you for pushing me to go outside of my comfort zone and try new things.

8. Thank you for sending me hilarious Snapchats when I need to smile or laugh.

9. Thank you for listening to me go on and on and on (and on) about boys because I'm just as boy crazy as I was back in high school.

10. Thank you for not questioning it when I randomly decide to rant about something that's kind of irrelevant.

11. Thank you for saying exactly what I need to hear exactly when I need to hear it. Brutal honesty is necessary for growth.

12. Thank you for taking 500 pictures when I need my picture to look just artsy enough it matches my Instagram aesthetic.

13. Lastly, thank you for loving me and for being some of the best friends I've ever come to know.

My life has become exponentially better since you all came along, and I couldn't be more thankful. I cannot wait for the years of friendship we have in front of all of us.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
