The odds of winning Saturday night's $940.8 million jackpot were one in 292 million. One of the morning news shows reported that the likelihood of winning the Powerball is the same as being blindfolded in front of the whole map of the country and sticking a pin directly on New York City six times. Since there was no winner of Saturday's announcement, however, the jackpot has now surged to $1.3 billion.
