Even as a twenty-year-old and a junior in college, there are times where being six hours away from my family are tough. Here's a list of things that I miss about my mom and the spectacular human being she is.
1. The back "tickles"
Fortunately, one of my best friends here at Simpson University also knows the back and arm "tickles". There's just something about your mom's "tickles" that are so relaxing and comforting.
2. Taking care of me when I'm sick
You can never repay your mom for the time that she took taking care of you while you're sick, but you sure can miss them tons when you're sick and they are hours away. Sometimes, if you're lucky, her voice might pop into your head telling you exactly what to do.
3. The spontaneous adventures
My mom is, more often than not, my adventure buddy. Whenever I ask her if she's down to go somewhere, the answer never fails to be, "YES!!!!!"
4. Homecooked meals, but also making a meal for your parents so your mom can catch a break
I made this pasta and quick break for my parents the night before I moved out for the summer. Best idea ever.
5. Her enthusiasm for life

6. Her country heart

7. The way she loves all of her children
She always makes our house feel like home without a lot of effort. It's just who she is.
8. Being my biggest cheerleader

9. Making matching vests for us

10. Her love for camp
She loves camp so much. She loves attending camp, being a director at camp, and working at camp. She's a camp lover.
11. How she laughs at LITERALLY everything

12. Last, but not least, the love that she gives to me
Even when I'm mad at her or she's mad at me, I always know that she loves me unconditionally. She shows it by comforting me when I have a broken heart, ALWAYS taking care of me when I'm sick (even missing family events to do so), going on adventures with me, showing up to every volleyball and soccer game, choir and band concert, football game (to support the band), marching competition, mailing a coffee mug to me when I forget it at home, driving me everywhere when I didn't have my license, encouraging me in my faith, and overall being someone to talk to.
Love you so much, Mama. Keep doing what you're doing.
