Yeah, we may go to different schools, but we all act the same. Despite everything, the “college student” stereotypes are sadly true, no matter what you do.
1. So, 8 a.m. classes are the worst thing ever.
High School me: “If school started at 8 a.m. everything would be perfect!”
College me: “This is the worst decision I’ve ever made.”
Also, when you get back from the class, all your friends are still not up and won’t be for a long time.
2. When squad leaves the weekend and you’re staying.
Honestly, there is nothing to do without your friends. They are the reason you never get bored, especially if your rooms are very close, so when they leave we really have no idea what to do.
3. Having to check your bank account before you go out because the “broke college student” stereotype is actually real.
4. This also applies to when you have to buy books.
We wait until the professor says we need them to actually buy the books. Nothing is worse than buying a book I never needed.
5. Netflix. Oh, Netflix.
Having that show all your friends watch together is great. The best feeling is walking into your friend’s room after a long day of classes and they already have Netflix up and ready.
6. The food in the dining halls got old after the first week.
This is the main reason why "freshman-15" is real. Even having a salad makes you feel like crap, and all we really want is a home cooked meal...or just real food in general.
7. Only going to the gym if all your friends are going.
Sometimes even all your friends going still isn’t enough motivation because of those two quizzes you have tomorrow. Oh darn, I have to “study.” I can’t go.

8. Picking out the cutest guy / girl in all your classes.
Sitting next to them on the first day of classes is recommended. Talking to your neighbors in classes happens often, and sometimes we have to keep classes interesting, especially General Education courses.
9. Coming into class and seeing someone in your seat.
You’re left feeling like you’re on a stranded island with nowhere to go.
But, of course you don’t go up to them and say anything because you don’t want to make a big scene about it.
10. Your favorite thing to do with friends is support other friends!
There is nothing better than seeing your friends succeed in things they love. Also, being supported by your best friends is one of the best feelings in the world.
11. Doing homework with friends is the new “hanging
out with friends.”
We all have a crap ton of homework to do, but we also want to hang out. Especially when you all have the same online quiz to take.
12. Freshman dorms aren’t all that bad.
It’s where you spent most of your time and where you met your best friends. Yeah, they don’t look the best, but it’s home.
