Let's be real, "Elf" is probably one of the best Christmas movies of all time. I can't think of anyone who wouldn't want Buddy as a best friend. He's encouraging, up for adventures and tells you when you smell like beef and cheese... What more could you want in a friend?

1. He Is Supportive With Everything You Do

He's more excited than you are about your own accomplishments.

2. He ALWAYS Has A Smile On His Face

Whenever you need a "pick me up" Buddy's got your back.

3. He Maintains A Balanced Diet

He sticks to the main food groups: Candy, Candy Corn, Candy Canes and SYRUP. No Worries if you're having Italian at your place, he's got you covered with the spare syrup.

4. He Wears Leggings Everyday

HE KNOWS....Leggings are literally life. You can wear them anywhere such as going to the mall, to the gym or about to eat 15 pizzas. #blessed

5. He Found Love by 800% Being Himself

Everyone worries about their crush thinking they're weird so we all try to act cool in front of them. Buddy on the other hand, fully embraced his weirdness. #RESPECT

6. He Tells You When You Smell

He's got your back when you've eaten too many cheesy gordita crunches at Taco Bell.

7. If You Are Having A Bad Day, He's Always There To Give You A Hug

Everybody has those days when life is hard and you just need a best friend hug.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
