We've all had to buy concert tickets at some point in our lives. If you've never had to face any of these situations, well then, congratulations to you. But if so, then you know exactly what it's like trying to get a few tickets to a concert that it seems everyone on the planet is trying to get into too. It's invigorating, but it's also the most stressful thing you will ever have to do. The thought of letting your friends down when you have to tell them you didn't get tickets is the worst fear of it all. But we all still do it to get the best seats possible.
1. The show is announced two days before the tickets go on sale.
You have two days to organize an army. You need to know who is willing to go, who has the money pronto, and who will be available when the ticket sale starts. It's even more stressful when your friends never answer their phone.
2. Memorizing your credit card number.
There's no time to read it off the card. You must be swift as a coursing river.
3. Getting no sleep the night before.
You might as well be going into the Hunger Games arena with the amount of stress you're feeling in that moment.
4. You set at least three alarms leading up to the on-sale time.
If it is a 10 a.m. on-sale time, you set one alarm to wake up, one alarm to open the browser, and then an alarm when it's time to kick it into high gear and get these tickets. More than three alarms is always appropriate.
5. You and your friends coordinate your watches.
It's always best to have more than one person trying to get through Ticketmaster. One person might get better seats than you so make sure you're all on a call together so you don't buy duplicate tickets!
6. Opening at least four different browser windows all with the same website.
If one crashes, it's best to have the back up ready to go.
7. The sweats.
You seem to become abnormally sweaty as the clock ticks down to the on-sale time. You're afraid to move from the computer, even to pee or get a drink, even though you still have 10 minutes until you can buy the tickets.
8. The moment of sheer panic as the clock turns on the hour.
Immediately, you're on the offensive mode, unafraid to do whatever is necessary.
9. All of your prepared browsers simultaneously crash.
It happens to the best of us. Your IP address might even get locked out for trying to refresh the page so many times. This is why it's important to coordinate with friends.
10. Tears.
You've accepted your fate. Either you're not going to get tickets or will have to buy them off Stubhub at ridiculously inflated prices.
11. The page finally refreshes and you get through.
It's truly a Christmas miracle even though it might be the middle of July.
12. You get the tickets!
It might not be the best seats or the ones in your price range but frankly, you do not care. You're seeing your favorite band live!
