Nearly everyone has experienced the inevitable, the cancellation of their favorite television show. Some may try to numb the pain by starting to watch the pilot of a new show that has eternally been on the air such as "Grey's Anatomy," "Supernatural," "Degrassi," or "Pretty Little Liars." Sadly, no new show will be able to fill the hole where your old time favorite once was. Just yesterday, "One Tree Hill"'s cancellation came up in conversation and my friend burst into tears. It was still too soon.
1. Regretting your weekly commitment
We all knew it was coming. How could we be have been so naive to actually think a television show would stay? I supposed all good things must come to an end.
2. Feeling betrayed by the network
You watched all the cast interviews, read all of the tweets, heard the network proclaim their love for said show. Yet somehow, someone decided it was no longer good enough.
3. Guilt
Maybe if you had just liked their Facebook page, got a few more friends interested in the show, or watched live weekly this would not have happened.
4. Trust issues
Maybe from now on you will just live on old reruns and never let in another television show. Perhaps life would just be easier that way.
5. Denial
This cannot possibly be the end. I know! I'll start a petition, write a letter to the producers, maybe if I just profess my love of the show online or start a Twitter trend it can get the network's attention. Unfortunately, more often than not, it truly is over.
6. Frustration
Watching old promos and episodes has never been so hard.
8. Starting the show over from the beginning
This task is not an easy one, but eventually we must appreciate the seasons we do have readily available on Netflix. However, it has never hurt quite this much.
9. Friends telling you to try a new show
Even if you did, it could never be the same. No show can compare in humor, drama, or character depth as the one you just lost did. They just don't get it. They never do.
10. Googling "shows similar to ______"

It's time. You've reached that point, you need to turn your TV on again to something other than old "Make It Or Break It" reruns from on demand. Moving forward hurts, but the actors of your favorite show would want you to find love again.
11. Binge watching a new show
Finding a new show to love is not easy, but you must find a way to survive that certain day of the week without new episodes of your old time favorite.
12. Finally re-watching the series finale
This will be the most difficult stage of them all, but in reliving this episode you will finally confront the truth. Perhaps you will somehow even find a way to make peace with having to say goodbye to your favorite characters.
12. Being grateful you had the show in the first place
While television writers have pretty much ruined our lives with cliff hangers, character deaths, and more, we somehow love them. The final stage will consist of happy crying and binge watching the entire show again from the beginning.
