12 Stages Of Finals Week

It's going to be rough.

Finals week is approaching fast, and I don't think anyone is ready for it. As a college student, this week is probably the most dreaded week of of the semester, and the week before is probably the most stressful.

As a college student, I think I have the credentials to say that I hate finals and everything about it. To express how awful it is, here are the 12 stages of finals:

1. Finals are coming.

This one is pretty self explanatory. In the popular TV show Game of Thrones the short lived character Ned Stark gives this warning and everyone knows it is not good news. Finals are coming people! Be prepared.

2. Time to get serious.

In Disney movie Mulan, the Huns are out for blood and the new recruits need to be whipped into shape. Much like the Huns, finals are coming for you – so it's time to get serious and start studying. It's time to get down to business.

3. Fake it till you make it.

Ross always seems to get into situations where he has to fake being OK. So, when finals start approaching, you better start faking it till you make it. Or until you die, whichever comes first.

4. Drink until you forget about finals.

Lets face it, finals prep is a whole lot easier to get through with a few drinks. It's totally fine to take a break, let loose a little and toss a few back. If Yang says it's drinking time, then it must be drinking time.

5. You realize you don't remember anything you learned all semester.

You just spent an entire semester going to class (sometimes), taking tests and doing assignments. But the moment you sit down to study for finals – everything you learned has completely left your brain.

6.You start to project.

Your friends and family try to help you, and tell you that everything is going to be OK, but you are so stressed you take out all of your frustration on them.

7. You started to have bit of a break down.

Everything is coming at you at once and you feel like it is too much for you to handle. It's OK to cry and panic a little bit. It feels like it's the end of the world and you don't see a way out of it.

8. You feel like you can take on the world.

You had your freak out and got it out of your system. Now that you've taken care of that, things don't seem so bad anymore. You gain faith in yourself and realize the you got this. You can do it!

9. Caffeine over load.

You have the confidence, now all you need is the energy. You will be pulling some all nighters and you need to find some way to stay awake and focused. So, fill up your coffee cup, and grab a red bull.

10. What even is sleep?

You've been studying for a week straight and maybe have gotten six hours of sleep. You have been awake for so long, you have most likely forgotten what sleep even is.

11 It's the moment of truth.

It's time. Finals have finally arrived and it's time to see if all of your hard work has paid off. You have put so much blood, sweat and tears into preparing for this moment. You are almost done!

12. You have survived finals week.

You did it! You got through finals week. You screamed, you cried, you may have gone a little insane – but you made it. You were convinced that you weren't going come out alive, but you did. Now it's time to sit back, relax and enjoy your summer.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
