1. Go on a road trip.
No spring break vacation is complete without a full scale road trip to get there (and hopefully the beach as the destination). Just give me three of my best friends and an open sunroof, and I'm all set.
PS: It's also a great bonding experience. You really get to know someone when you're trapped in the car with them for five hours.
2. Jam out to the playlist you made for said road trip.
Just like you can't go on vacay without a stereotypical road trip, you really can't have a road trip without a stereotypical playlist. You know the one. A little bit of Fetty Wap, and a couple throwbacks to middle school dance parties. Maybe even some of those middle school dance moves will resurface, who knows?
3. Relax.
Do less.
4. Tan.
All of that time spent relaxing on the beach = hours of time for tanning.
(Don't forget to flip though.)
5. Read a book on the beach.
It's not often that we, college students have time for leisure reading. So sit back, sip on a drink, and start that one romance novel you've been dying to read that offers absolutely no educational value for you. Maybe even binge-read all of Nicholas Sparks' books in one week. You deserve it.
6. Forget about your homework.
To those of you who have been wonderfully graced with a professor that assigned a test on the Monday following spring break, I am sorry. To the rest of you, what is homework?
7. In fact, forget about all of your other responsibilities.
"Adulting" is hard, and spring break is the one week of the semester when you don't have to.
8. Stay up late.
You only get one spring break this year so make it a good one. Go out and have fun!
9. But don't sleep in.
It seems to me that the longer I've been in college, the more sleep I have to get to function on a daily basis. And while it will be tempting to sleep in until who-knows-what hour, set an alarm! Wake up! Watch the sunrise one morning! You can nap on the beach later.
10. Actually, forget about calories too.
This is the week where all those salads and hours at the gym pay off. This is the week that you're allowed to eat whatever you want. This is the week when calories don't matter.
11. Take lots of pictures.
There's always that one friend in the group who wants to take a picture all the time (aka me). Spring break is your excuse. Invest in a selfie stick. Take as many shameless group selfies as one possibly can in a week.
And everyone will thank you when they need an Instagram picture for a #tbt about a month down the road when they're procrastinating from the stress that is exam week.
12. Make this the best one yet.
They always say college is the best four years of your life. To be honest, I'd like to believe that there's even better memories to be made down the road. But until then, go enjoy it while you can!
