12 Songs To Listen To On Girls' Night

If you're a girl, you know just how fun Girls' Night can be. The music, the dancing, the memories and the mistakes all make for great stories until the next weekend. But sometimes the most fun is had at home before the party even starts! The hour plus process of hair, makeup, and picking out the perfect outfit must be accompanied by a killer playlist to get all the girls ready for what the night may hold.

1. "How To Be A Heartbreaker" by Marina and the Diamonds

I'm starting off this mini-playlist with Marina and the Diamonds because her albums are the epitome of "Girls' Night" songs. Turn on this jam to get the party started as you and your girlfriends get ready for a night out on the town.

2. "Pity Party" by Melanie Martinez

You probably remember Melanie Martinez from The Voice. Being eliminated after week five, Martinez went on to release her first album, Dollhouse, and is currently on tour for her subsequent album Cry Baby, which features this killer song!

3. "Cheap Trills" by Sia

I don't know about you, but Sia is my spirit animal. Ever since her 2014 hit, this Australian singer and songwriter has had all American girls screaming "Chandelier" at the top of their lunges. Now, we are letting people know that we "love cheap thrills" but, at the same time, are always keeping it classy.

4. "See You Again"-Rock Mafia Remix by Miley Cyrus

We loved her on Hannah Montana. We loved her with double buns and tongue. We love her on Girls' Night.

5. "Everytime We Touch" by Cascada

This song will definitely NOT make you evacuate the dance floor. Cascada's "Everytime We Touch" is a classic when it comes to Girls' Night because there's no doubt that we still get the feels from this song almost 10 years later.

6. "Sit Still, Look Pretty" by Daya

This is the ultimate girl power song of 2016. At age seventeen, Daya is debuting songs like "Hide Away" and "Sit Still, Look Pretty" which send a message of confidence and independence to young girls everywhere.

7. "White Houses" by Vanessa Carlton

From her 2004 album Harmonium, Vanessa Carlton is still touching our hearts with "White Houses." This fun-loving hit will have you twirling around with your girlfriends, forgetting that you're not seven year-old ballerinas anymore.

8. "Here's To Never Growing Up" by Avril Lavigne

Growing up screams never-ending work days, countless responsibilities, and limited time for fun. So after that long work week, feel free to hop on that Peter Pan and Wendy bandwagon with some girlfriends and this jam by Avril Lavigne.

9. "Radio" by Beyonce

It's Beyonce. Do I need to explain?

10. "Ugly Heart" by G.R.L.

This is the song to play in honor of your girlfriend who just got out of a relationship. She might need a little motivation to throw her big girl heels, let loose, and have some fun now that she is FREE. "Ugly Heart" by G.R.L. is a ballad bashing all of those horrible ex-boyfriends.

11. "Material Girl" by Madonna

We all can feel the energy skyrocket on the dance floor when the DJ turns on an oldie but goodie. It's like you can't control your body from dancing or resist singing every memorized word. Throwbacks are awesome and who is more awesome than Madonna?

12. "Wannabe"-Radio Edit by Spice Girls

Here it is. The be-all and end-all girl power jam of the century. Yes, we know every word. No, we can't pick our favorite spice girl, but we will blow out the Uber's speakers and lose our voices by the time we get to where the party's at.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
