Every college major has their own set of characteristics. It's easy to pick out the theater majors from the bio-med majors from the education majors. Being one semester away from student teaching and two semesters away from graduation, I've learned a few things that all education majors have in common. Here are 12 signs you're an education major:
1.You're constantly searching and collecting things that you might use in your future classroom.
2. Shopping for school supplies is fun and certainly not a chore.
3. You have your regular voice and then you have a very distinct "teacher's voice."
4. Your professional clothes are starting to outnumber your regular clothes.
5. Your planner is your life.
6. You have a Pinterest board designated for your future classroom and teaching ideas.
7. Figuring how to navigate LiveText is an act of congress.
8. Conversations with your peers usually revolve around edTPA or Common Core.
9. You probably have a mental list of things past teachers have done that you've sworn you'll never do as a teacher.
10. You have perfected your organizational skills.
11. You've probably kept the majority of your textbooks.
12. You've all imagined what our first day of teaching will be like.
