Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. All these states make up the Midwest. Much of the United States population has not even stepped foot in any of these 12 states. And you know what? They don't know what they are missing. Here are the sure signs of a Midwesterner.

1. You've played this game at every family gathering.

2. You know the difference between pretty farmland and boring farmland.

3. You actually know your neighbors.

4. You know exactly what a hot-dish is.

5. You know that beaches are at the lake.

6. You put ranch on absolutely everything.

7. You don't feel weird waving and smiling at people you pass by.

8. Catching fireflies is summer.

9. Puppy chow is one of your favorite treats.

10. You have worn shorts in 40-degree weather.

11. It's called pop, not soda.

12. And you couldn't imagine living anywhere else.
