We all have wonderful friend groups that are our support, comfort, and the people we call up for a good time. We all know "who is who" in the group: the mother, the funny one, the mess, and the lovable idiot. Out of all of the friends in the group, there is one that is the weirdo, the friend who everyone knows is a little different but in all of the best ways. We see this personality type in many sitcoms like Friends; Phoebe is the weirdo. She is the most different out of the entire group, but she is still is one of their best friends. Also, she is one of the most entertaining people of the group and you never know what weird thing she will say. So, if you feel a little different and maybe even a little special within your friend group, you might be a Phoebe.
This list will help you decide if you are the weirdo of your friend group. Let's hope you are!
- When the group is talking together, you will sit there not listening and then remember something funny from a few days ago. You proceed to interrupt the serious conversation to remind them of a joke.
- Before meeting new people, your other friends will tell you to “be normal."
- You send the strangest drunk text messages.
- Nobody wants to barrow clothes from you closet because they would never want to be seen in your kitty pajamas.
- When people yell “lets get weird tonight,” you laugh because you already are.
- You make references to obscure books, movies, and online articles that nobody knows. When they don’t understand, you try to describe it to them.
- All of your friends have a “what the hell” expression that they save just for you.
- On Snapchat, you never use the "pretty filter;" instead, you use the most disturbing filter and send it to all of your contacts.
- You show people pictures of your cat, Freddie, all too often.
- You notice weird things about others in your group (how someone eats, twirls his or her hair, etc).
- You get excited about the smallest things (like, screaming excited).
- But despite all of these quirks, your friends love the little weirdo that you are.
In the end, you are not weird and you’re definitely not alone. You are the friend that keeps things interesting and a little more exciting. If you go out to a dinner, you will start up a conversation that leads to hours of enjoyment and laughter. There is never a dull moment with you in the group which is why you’re loved by all of your friends. Every group could use a weird friend. At times you might feel left out or too different, but that is not true. Everyone is different, but you are the most special kind of different.
