Wesley Kluck-Ouachita Baptist University

Tiger Tunes is a huge part of Ouachita. Every year, all the clubs on campus pick a theme, design extravagant costumes and create lyrics and dances to popular songs. But the week after Tiger Tunes is like dead week for everyone around campus. The energy is gone and the sleep levels are low. Here are a few signs when you know it's the week after tunes.

1. Your grades are at an all-time low

But don't worry, you still have all semester to get them back up.

2. The amount of hours you've slept the past month is also at an all-time low

3. If you're a girl, there's probably still glitter all over your room.

4. Your face feels refreshed not having to wear makeup the next day...boys, I'm talking to you too.

Caking on all that stage makeup every night starts to get real old, real fast.

5. There's an unspoken yet well-respected rule of silence around campus.

If you passed someone on the way to class and they didn't say "hey" back to you, don't be offended. They were just in Tiger Tunes. They're probably running on very little sleep and it's all they could do just to lift their hand to wave at you.

6. If it weren't for fall break, I'm not sure anyone would make it to the end of the week.

Thank you faculty and staff of Ouachita for allowing us to take the last two days of the week off. You're doing yourself a favor by canceling classes, otherwise it would just be a waste of your energy to try to get us to retain any information you give us.

7. Half of campus looks like they just walked off the set of "The Walking Dead."

8. If you're one of the lucky ones that even has a voice after tunes, it's probably still pretty hoarse.

Singing and cheering like you just won the Super Bowl every night starts to take a toll on the vocal cords.

9. You're not sure what to do with all your extra free time in the afternoons.

Catch up on homework maybe? Nah...probably take a nap.

10. Everyone is wearing some sort of Tiger Tunes themed shirt.

11. Your Facebook timeline is flooded with people sharing links to their Tiger Tunes show on YouTube.

12. You're happy Tunes is over because it means more free time and extra sleep, but you're also sad because you know Tunes is one of the most fun things you'll do all year.

Now go take a nap and dream about all the homework you should be doing.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
