Throughout my entire life, I always remember my mom telling me I overthink things. I’d roll my eyes and brush it off, because I never really understood what that meant. What does it mean to overthink? To me, overthinking means that you dwell on an event, a person, a feeling or an idea so much, that it completely consumes your thoughts. That’s what it’s like for me, at least. If you think this kind of describes you, then this article is for you.

According to my own overthinking mind, here are 12 signs that you too are a chronic overthinker.

1.You get mad at things most people don’t get mad at.

I work at a restaurant. Sometimes I go to seat people at a table and they point and say, “Can we have a booth?” No, you cannot. How dare you even ask me that.

2. You tend to hold grudges.

My best friend may be over the fight with her boyfriend, but I sure as hell am not.

3. You constantly question yourself.

My friend will tell me she likes my outfit, but I will definitely change it 15 more times before I settle on the very first option.

4. You convince yourself (fill in the blank).

5. You get way too involved in other people’s lives because you care far too much.

What can I say? My heart is too big for my chest!

6. You think everyone is mad at you.

Oh, Lauren doesn’t answer my text message? She definitely hates me.

7. You say things you don’t mean.

Sometimes I get so heated and caught up in something, that I end up saying some pretty mean things to the people I care about most.

8. You take things the wrong way. All the time.

Someone will be mean to be funny, and I will take it seriously. Or vice versa. It always ends awkwardly.

9. You think of the most ridiculous scenarios.

Some people would call it creative.

10. You cry when you get frustrated.

One time I lost my friends necklace. I tore apart my entire room to try to find it with no luck. I started crying because I knew she would be mad at me. After I had a nice long cry, I opened my sock drawer to find the necklace glimmering beneath my tears.

11. You make irrational decisions.

I dwell about something so much that I think that acting on it is the best alternative, when in reality, I just need to shut up and do nothing.

12. You wholeheartedly believe you are batshit crazy sometimes.

With everything that's going on in your head, you start to think you are going completely crazy.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
