Do you ever turn on the TV on a Saturday morning and think to yourself, "What happened to all the great TV shows?" Many of the new cartoons and tween television shows from the classic youth networks just don't seem to have the same appeal as the shows that played in the early 2000s. While there are many old favorites that deserve mention, here are 12 examples of popular past TV shows that enhanced our upbringing and hopefully bring back fond memories.
1. "Kim Possible"
It's tough to decide if watching Kim and Ron's team crime fighting skills or their budding high school romance was more entertaining. Regardless, Kim's cool confidence and Ron's quirky kindness made them the perfect duo in any situation (and we all love Rufus, too).
2. "The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius"
Everyone made fun of Jimmy's oversized oblong cranium, but how else could his giant brain fit into his skull? Jimmy's outrageous IQ (especially for a third-grader) and timely brain blasts would've totally come in clutch millions of times during high school and college.
3. "The Proud Family"
Penny Proud is possibly the most relatable cartoon character for the average 14-year-old girl. We all know the feelings of frustration and embarrassment Penny experienced from family drama throughout the series, but at the end of the day, this dysfunctional family shows why we love our own crazy crew so much.
4. "Danny Phantom"
Am I the only one who wished a ghost would hide under my bed just so Danny Phantom could come to my rescue? This shape-shifting teen vigilante was heroic and hunky all in one misunderstood ghost-boy package.
5. "Drake & Josh"
"Drake & Josh" was arguably the most hilarious sibling rivalry on television. Aside from the constant fear of walking into another one of younger sister Megan's vicious tricks, these brothers had absolutely nothing in common. In spite of this, Drake and Josh made a charming dynamic duo that never allowed small disagreements to impede their close relationship (or brotherly hugs).
6. "Zoey 101"
PCH was actual high school goals: no parents, the latest gadgets and gizmos all throughout campus, and weather just as beautiful as the students. The real highlight of this show, however, was the back-and-forth fling between main characters Zoey and Chase. Although the show ended before finding out their fate, we all know the two belong together forever.
7. "The Amanda Show"
Between the hillbillies, dancing lobsters, and whatever was going on during Moody's Pointe, this show was fully of wacky '90s skits that featured the wild humor and style of the era. While a general plot is difficult to define, there's no question this was one of Nickelodeon's most entertaining shows on the air.
8. "Full House"
TV's most real family brought the entire house together on the couch for Nick at Nite when this series was playing reruns. This show is unique from the others on this list, however, since its new spinoff will officially be airing in under two weeks! It'll be quite a challenge to live up to the original!
9. "Even Stevens"
For those who grew up in a three-sibling household, this show was a literal representation of your life. Louis and Ren's constant competition to be the best Stevens child perfectly encompasses part of the typical growing family dynamic. Not to mention, every episode was full of side-splitting humor that reminded you of some crazy memory with your own annoying-yet-loveable siblings.
10. "Phil of the Future"
Phil always made the year 2121 look exciting yet impossible. We too wanted to travel ahead in time to play with some of Phil's fancy gear and be able to spray our meals directly out of a can.
11. "That's So Raven"
If being able to see the future is anything like Raven's crazy life was, maybe we're all better off not knowing everything. Moreover, Raven's mystical mind travel gives us a reason to consider how our actions might lead to certain consequences in the future if we're not careful.
12. "Lizzie McGuire"
This silly series seemed to broadcast all our high-school-induced problems right on to the small screen. From persistent bullies to crushes who never knew our names, Lizzie kept us laughing through the daily disasters of adolescence and reminded us to see the good in every situation.
