12 Reasons Your Childhood Best Friend Is Irreplaceable

We all have that one friend, or maybe that group of friends, who we have known since we came out of the womb. Those friends are something special and we should truly cherish them. No matter how amazing your high school and college friends are, they just can’t compare to the friends you have had from the very start of your life. Childhood best friends are a different breed; they follow a list of rules that don’t necessarily apply to the rest of your friends.

1. Nothing ever changes between you all.

Sometimes you stay inseparable with your childhood best friends, but sometimes you go down separate paths in life and don’t see each other as often. No matter what your story is, it doesn’t matter…every time you do see them, it is like nothing has changed: you catch up on what you’ve missed and then get back to the normal stuff.

2. A fight that could end a normal friendship just puts a dent in a childhood friendship.

Friends fight, it is inevitable. Childhood best friends can be extremely brutal to one another, but that is because they know that no matter what, they will always get through it. A fight might never fully be forgotten, but it will never ruin your friendship forever.

3. They would fly across the world for you.

Just went through a horrible break up? Got fired from your dream job because of a misunderstanding? These are catastrophes and your childhood bestie will be by your side in no time (as long as planes aren’t delayed for once).

4. You can't stop being their friend because you would miss their family way too much.

You love their family so much that you always have to make up with each other in order to not lose your second family.

5. They watched you grow up and know all of your stories.

And even with knowing all of your stories, the good and the bad, they still want to be your friend.

6. They stuck with you through your awkward years.

That is true dedication!

7. They know your weaknesses, but don't use them against you.

That is true love. You can push each other’s buttons, but even when that happens, they wouldn’t dare bring up your weaknesses, that is just plain wrong.

8. Going out with them is always a blast because every moment together brings back amazing childhood memories.

You’ll be out together and walk past a restaurant and it will be remembered as that place you had your 10 th birthday party.

9. Even if you don't see each other for a long period of time, when you're back together, it's like nothing ever changed.

You haven’t seen each other in awhile, but when you reunite, you get right back on their bed and start filling each other in on your lives like you were never apart.

10. Their parents are like the second parents you never knew you needed.

Sometimes you get sick of your parents and when that happens, you just head over to your childhood bestie’s house and chat with their parents, duh!

11. You have the best throwback pictures together from when you were kids.

No one can deny a good throwback pic.

12. You know that no matter what, you will always have at least one true friend in your life.

And that is the best part of it all.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
