"Pretty Little Liars"––either you love it or you hate it. Those who hate it don't understand the television masterpiece that is "PLL." But this is the best show to ever grace your television screen and here's why.
1. You grew up with the characters.
"Pretty Little Liars" first aired when I was just fifteen. The characters were all around that age when the show started which means that we've grown up with each other. The only difference is that when I was having my first kiss the "Pretty Little Liars" were receiving their first texts from A.
2. Hanna gives the best life advice.
Even though Hanna is the most ditzy of the liars, she gives the greatest advice. Don't even get me started on her one-liners.
3. It shows that being yourself is okay.
Whether you're a nerd, a glamour girl, the artsy type, or an athlete, you should always stay true to yourself.
4. It makes you believe in love.
You have to admit that the couples on this show are the best. From Ezria, to Haleb, to Spoby. I just hope Emily find the one for her this season.
5. The characters go through real life problems.
Behind all of the secrets and lies, they're all still teenagers. They've had to deal with breakups, first loves, hot boys, school assignments––basically anything you and I had to deal with as teens.
6. It taught you the true meaning of friendship.
No matter what has happened to the liars over the years, they have never left each other's sides. That's what being a friend is all about.
7. It gives you the best Halloween costumes.
There are so many options to choose from. The red coat, Black Widow, Black Swan, Aria, Alison––the list goes on and on.
8. It shows diversity.
One of the main characters is a lesbian and the biggest plot twist in the history of television was that CeCe was born Charles.
9. It shows that it's okay to fall apart.
No matter what you're going through, you have the right to have a break down if whatever is happening to you gets to be too much. "PLL" shows us that as long as we eventually pull ourselves together, it's fine to freak out for a little bit.
10. The cast has the greatest off-screen relationships.
I live for Ashley Benson's and Shay Mitchell's snapchat stories. You're guaranteed to see a "Pretty Little Liars" cast member at least once a day.
11. It taught you how to stand up for yourself.
If anyone could teach you how to stand up for yourself, it's Spencer Hastings.
12. It makes Tuesdays bearable.
The only thing getting me through Tuesday is knowing that "Pretty Little Liars" is coming on that evening. I don't know how I make it when it's off air.
