If you have the opportunity to study abroad for a semester, then choose to go to L’Italia. Italy is the second most popular country for U.S. students studying abroad, and after spending three months here, it’s easy to see why. Here are 12 reasons why you should study in Italy:

1. The food

Italy holds up to its reputation as one of the food capitals of the world. You might miss Chipotle while you’re here, but it’ll be hard going back to American food after you’ve had some classic pasta dishes, pizza and gelato!

2. The drinks

Italy is also best known for its coffee and wines, and they don’t disappoint. Start off your morning with a cup of cappuccino in one of Italy’s many cafés before class, or make time for a trip to the Chianti region in Tuscany for some classic wine tasting.

3. The art

Italy is famous for its art. After all, Florence is the birthplace of the Renaissance, and is home to some of the best masterpieces in the art world, such as Michelangelo’s David or Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus. If you’re an art student, or just want to spice up your Instagram, then Italy is the place for you.

4. The history

Whether it’s ancient ruins of the Roman Empire, medieval castles, or gorgeous Renaissance churches, you’ll see relics from all periods of history everywhere you turn.

5. The language

Italian is one of the most beautiful languages in the world. What better way to study it than being in the country itself?

6. The cities

Italy has some of the most famous cities in the world. Whether it’s classic Rome, sunny Naples, or magical Venice, these cities are a must-see while you study (and before you die).

7. The countryside

Along with its famous cities, Italy also has one of the most beautiful scenic landscapes in the world. The Tuscan vineyards, Northern lakes, and Southern beaches are the perfect escapes from the city crowds, and are good places to wind down from your studies.

9. The people

The Italians are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. They are warm, kind, charismatic, and are anything but rude. You will definitely make some friends while you are here.

10. The fashion

You don’t have to go to Milan to see high fashion. Italians have a philosophy called la bella figura, which means they’re all about dressing nice and making a good impression. You will see lots of beautiful clothes (and people!) while you are here.

11. The authenticity

Like most countries, Italy is no stranger to globalization (there is a McDonald’s on almost every block in Rome), but it’s done a great job at keeping true to its distinct culture and traditions. I’ve seen more cafés, traditional-style restaurants, and small family-run boutiques than I have big corporations, which is nice and refreshing and makes immersing in a different culture easier.

12. The time of your life

If you have the opportunity to study abroad, then don’t let it pass by. It may seem daunting spending that much time in a foreign country, but you will not regret it. My three months in Italy were some of the best in my life, full of growth and adventure. You will learn and see and do so much while you’re here, and you’ll never want the semester to end!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
