12 Reasons I Miss My College Roommates.

One of the worst parts of summer is not living with your roommates. Sometimes you hate them after being locked in your room to study for 48 hours straight, but going without them for two weeks is even worse. I hate that I am not living with the best people in the world. Here are some of the best and worst things to miss about your roommates during the summer:

1. Late night talks are always the best! I miss staying up until 2 a.m. when we said we would go to bed early. Instead we would talk about everything that has happened the last two weeks in our lives.

2. I miss always dragging them to eat supper with me. My roommates were always up for going to dinner or grabbing a late night snack together.

3. We live together, but we might not talk for days on end. College is busy. When you work, have a social life, and have high standards on your grades, you could go days without speaking. You can always know that your roommate is not offended, they understand the struggle.

4. There is this thing called 'no judgement zone'. As soon as you enter our room, it's completely fine to take off your shoes and pants and just lounge in bed until supper time. We also share in conversation about all the strange things that have happened today that some people might think was weird, but hey they know all the weird things about you so who cares?

5. Procrastination is at its highest around 9:00 p.m. in our dorm room. None of us are prepared to study, so we all sit in the living room and talk to each other while pretending to study because it makes us feel better about our academic life.

6. When you live with someone for almost two years, you know them. You know their normal schedule. You know how they react to certain situations and vise versa, they know you. They can tell when you are having a bad day. Then if you are having a bad day, your roommate can make it all better by surprising you with Cheez-Its or mixed berry smoothies. Your roommate can make you feel better.

7. I miss living with my roommate. Does she care if my clothes basket is overflowing and my clothes are in the floor? No, remember we are in a no judgement zone. She lets me live in a messy room and does not complain one bit. She simply adds to the chaos I created.

8. Another thing to miss about your roommate is that no one is actually an authoritarian figure. Yes you have the mom roommate who tells you to go to the Doctor when you get sick and fixes you soup, but your roommates don't tell you what you have to do.

9. I miss having people pile on my bed and watch stupid YouTube videos that we talk about for weeks.

10. When you and your roommate are watching the same Netflix series and you have to talk to each other about it, but you are at different places, your roommate (if she or he is good) might just volunteer to have a Netflix marathon to catch you up so you can talk about all the things that are happening in "Grey's Anatomy."

11. Another big thing about living away from your roommate is you know have to force someone else to go to Walmart with you or you have to be an adult and go places by yourself.

12. Last but not least is just as simple as this: I miss seeing my roommates. I miss being best friends and doing best friend things. Life is a little less bright when they aren't around making jokes or strawberry smoothies for you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
