Attention incoming freshmen:

With the first day of college only weeks away, I'm sure by now you're finishing up back-to-school shopping, planning out how you're going to decorate your dorm room, and messaging your new roommates for the first time about who's bringing the Keurig. But another fun way for you to prepare for college is through film. With all the hustle and bustle of preparing for college, you need some time to unwind with a couple quality movie nights.

Here are 12 movies that every upcoming freshmen need to see before leaving home these next four years:

1. "Boyhood"

This movie is most known for being filmed in a span of 11 years, all with the same cast. So you get to watch the main character, Mason, grow up right before your eyes. He was born in 1996, so you'll get some serious nostalgia as you watch him navigate through a lot of the same issues that most young people today have gone through. You'll get some serious feels when he finally graduates high school and goes off to college.

2. "Toy Story 3"

Even if you've seen this movie before, watch it again before you officially leave home for college. All the feels from watching Andy say goodbye to his childhood will be even more real. If you still haven't seen this yet, your inner kid is mad at you.

3. "Dead Poets Society"

Beware, another tearjerker. This movie is about an English teacher, played by Robin Williams, who inspires his students at an all-boys boarding school in the 1950s. Listening to Williams encourage the boys to "carpe diem—

seize the day," will inspire you to make the most of your college experience.

4. "Mean Girls"

First of all, if you haven't seen this movie yet, the time is now. It's quoted about 500 times a day by all young people, so it's really time you finally understand everyone's references. And even if you have seen this movie, go back and really pay attention to Tina Fey's "girl-on-girl crime" speech. It's time to grow up from petty high school drama and go from gossiping about girls to complimenting girls you've never met before in a fraternity bathroom.

5. "Superbad"

Aside from being a hilarious movie, "Superbad" is also a great portrayal of what it's like to part ways with your best friend from high school. Don't pay attention to any of the parts about using a fake ID though— "McLovin" is not going to work for you, ever.

6. "Legally Blonde"

Elle Woods is seriously goals in every situation. While undergrad isn't as intense as Harvard Law, she's a great example of how hard you're going to have to work to achieve what you want in school and life in general.

7. "The House Bunny"

Anna Faris is at her funniest in this movie, while also dropping lessons on how to be confident in yourself without being superficial. Just don't expect any Playboy Playmates to randomly show up while you're rushing a sorority.

8. "Can't Hardly Wait"

"Can't Hardly Wait" is hilarious and one of the best ultimate party movies ever, taking place entirely on the night of a high school graduation. The biggest lesson to get out of this movie is to make sure you don't become Trip McNeely, a washed up former football star who comes back to hang out at hometown parties like the one in "Can't Hardly Wait" because he discovered popularity in high school doesn't transfer to college. You graduated— it's time to let go of the past so you can actually move on and have fun during the next chapter of your life.

9. "The Social Network"

This movie is about Mark Zuckerberg and the creation of Facebook, and unfortunately, most of you will not be able to relate to his experience of dropping out of school to become a billionaire. But you may be able to one day relate to how he (allegedly) feels when he realizes he abandoned his friends and significant other for new people and experiences. New people and experiences are great but don't sell out your loved ones. Learn from Mark's mistakes as well as his success.

10. "The Graduate"

"The Graduate" is a classic about a recent college graduate who begins an affair with a much older woman. Dustin Hoffman stars as Benjamin Braddock, the titular graduate, and he does a fantastic job of portraying how lost a young person can feel when they don't exactly know what they want to do with the rest of their life.

11. "Obvious Child"

"Obvious Child" has nothing to do with entering college. It's about a young woman, played by Jenny Slate, who gets pregnant from a one-night stand and decides to have an abortion. It's included on this list because while hopefully you never find yourself in her position, you may end up finding yourself having to make an incredibly difficult decision or just generally being suddenly slapped in the face with adulthood— whether that means unwanted pregnancy or something else. Slate offers a very realistic portrayal of a young woman just trying to make her way through life, and her character is someone that many girls going through young adulthood can relate to.

12. "Good Will Hunting"

The fact that this stars Matt Damon and Ben Affleck— in all of their young, hot and Boston-accented glory —should be enough to make you want to watch it. But it's also a great story about a troubled genius who strikes a deal to avoid prison time by working for an MIT professor and seeing a therapist, who tries to convince him to begin living up to his potential.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
