Ahh, middle-school. A time so near and dear to our hearts. I know we can all remember those days of frizzy hair, hormonal acne and bad fashion choices. Although these choices may be somewhat dated now, I know most of us are guilty of begging our mothers to purchase these "trendy" items. So, let us take a walk down memory lane and remember all of our poor, blackmail-worthy fashion choices.

1. Gaucho pants

I am pretty sure I had three different colors in these pants and I wore them proudly. I guess you could consider these the early, more comfortable version of leggings.

2. Ponchos

If you paired this with your gaucho pants, you were a true fashionista.

3. Juicy Couture Tracksuits

Sadly, these tracksuits were not used for working out. Celebrities wore these on their off days, fleeing from the paparazzi, whereas we wore them proudly to the largest social event of our lives: the school day. Nothing put you higher on the social ladder than if you owned one of these eccentric ensembles.

4. Anything Abercrombie & Fitch, Aeropostale or Hollister

I remember very vividly the days where I went to the mall with my friends and dug through the sale racks to find the perfect branded tee at an affordable price because who wants to pay $30 for a T-shirt. I will never understand why I felt ten times cooler when I wore tacky branded clothing, but hey at least I fit in!

5. Tiny purses

It may seem like a reasonable option for a 13 year old girl, but you still couldn't even fit all of your lip gloss in those tight spaces.

6. VS "Bombshell" bras

For some lucky girls, puberty comes very early life. However, not everyone can be #Blessed. Boys only gave attention to the girls with early-onset curves and the others were left with nothing. When the Victoria's Secret "Bombshell Bra" came out, it was every girl's dream to look like they had cleavage up to their neck. While it may have worked for some, other girls (such as myself) just looked like a bimbo.

7. UGG boots

Whether you had the plain UGGs or these bedazzled beauties, you were sure to be the coolest girl in school if you could convince your parents to buy you a pair. Sadly, I never had a pair of UGGs because my mom was smart enough not to pay for a pair of ridiculously over-priced boots that didn't even keep your feet dry.

8. Printed leggings

Every time you walked into school with a new pair of printed leggings, you felt like a million bucks. It seemed as if there was always a contest to see who had the best and coolest print on their bottoms.

9. Butt branding

Middle-schoolers just LOVED to show the world where they shopped. They also wanted people to be constantly looking at their butt.

10. Rubber "Causes" bracelets

I will admit, my collection was pretty aggressive at one point. At least I didn't wear them all up my arms though. Props to the kids who could pull it off!

11. Heelys

Although they were probably one of the best inventions of our teenage years, owning a pair of Heelys meant getting kicked out of every indoor establishment, and being branded as a delinquent on wheels.

12. Soffee shorts

Whether you were a dancer or cheerleader, you more than likely had a pair of Soffee shorts (or you may still have them). If you were REALLY cool, you had shorts with more sparkly words on the butt...and you rolled them three or more times.

Trends may come and go, but these fan favorites will be remembered forever.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
