Music is important. It is a beautiful form of self-expression and anyone can make music, but not everyone can be legendary while doing it. Here I have organized a list of those legends. Feel free to comment any more artists or groups you can think of.

1. Adele

This one name brings you to a place of many “feels.” This contralto possesses the gift of making tears fall and goosebumps appear just by opening her mouth. It would be hard to forget about Adele, maybe even impossible because her sultry voice is simply too hard to pass by. Anyone who thinks she won’t be a legend will be rolling in the deep as they see her face in the history of music.

2. Beyoncé

How can we forget about the main B and the empire she made with Jay Z? This Texan has been performing since she wore diapers. She doesn’t shy away from the crowd, she embraces it and it shows in her stage presence! She is already legendary and we can’t forget that we still have to get back at Becky with the good hair!

3. Justin Timberlake

To be honest, this is the only member of *NSYNC that I actually know and he has definitely made a name for himself in the music industry. This "Suit & Tie" wielding cutie is a renaissance man. He acts, sings, dances, and he is married to Jessica Biel with a cute baby boy! It would be hard to not even mention him in the future even if it’s just a sentence.

4. Britney Spears

Oh baby, baby, how was Lynne supposed to know, that her daughter would be a legend! If you were a late '80s and early '90s baby, you would’ve caught her singing, dancing and acting alongside Ryan Gosling, Christina Aguilera, and Justin Timberlake. We can call her baby Madonna just for the way she has changed pop music and performance. She has undeniable sex appeal and she can deal with the snakes as seen in her "Slave 4 U" performance and just her living under the breath of annoying paparazzi.

5. Taylor Swift

Whether you like her or hate her, you cannot deny Taylor’s impact. Even though her songs seem to circulate around the same topics (like every other singer because for some reason everyone is either too heartbroken or falling too hard in love), you don’t miss out on them much. Taylor Swift is like air, she is everywhere. You watch the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, and there's Taylor blending in well with the models and singing about a breakup. You read the name and the face popped in your head! To a great extent we have been Taylor-fied! 30 years from now, you may whistle some Taylor Swift song while washing your dishes. You may not know it was her song, but trust me when I say that you have been branded by the hot hits of Taylor Swift.

6. Nicki Minaj

I heard people who like big butts cannot lie, and we can’t deny that she loves what is back there, but that is not even the part that makes her special. Onika Maraj was a clarinet player before she started spitting and when she spit, fire would fall from the sky. Some may say that she lost her heat, but I think she is just going with the times to become more mainstream and it has helped. Overall, she is confident and beautiful and regardless of how inappropriate people may find her at times, she is comfortable in her own skin and will stand her ground. She may also be a successful female rapper merging pop and rap and making it mainstream. Is someone writing this down?

7. Rihanna

America’s favorite Bajan-- actually she may be the only Bajan that has accumulated such fame and now has an entire navy. Her catchy pop tunes and her savage ways make her the unique and amazing Robyn. How many of us dared to dress in sheer on a red carpet and still kill it? RiRi could do that. Her music videos are all beautiful in their own ways and can rock anything the same way she does. If she doesn’t go down in music history, I will be shocked, especially with the fact that she has been successful for 10 years now. Another reason why I put her on this list is because she is my birthday twin! #TeamPisces

8. Lady Gaga

Mother Monster has fixed up a cauldron of immortal dance, sexuality, and partying, and she has poured it on us all. She made weird look sexy in her own way. Michael Jackson’s zombie jive, Grace Jones’ surrealism and Picasso’s paintbrush merged into Stefani Germanotta. She is talented and has created a movement. She will be in our minds and in our textbooks wearing that robin egg blue telephone on her head. Mother Monster will always be in remembrance.

9. Christina Aguilera

It would suck if we forgot Xtina. To some, she yells a lot, but we can’t pretend that her strong and flexible voice hasn’t brought us through a lot. Some of us feel beautiful simply by listening to her singing what seems to be simple words. We would be damned if we forgot the most powerful voice of this generation.

10. Sia

This "Chandelier" loving 'mysterious' woman has vocally cracked into our playlists. The writer and singer of sad ballads and the empowerment one feels to grow as a person has become a legend. She is so unique that it will be hard to block her out of our memory, especially with her array of face covering wigs.

11. Justin Bieber

Another Justin has made the list and he may not be your favorite, but his impact is still evident. At first he was hated for no apparent reason, but just because he urinates in a mop bucket and talks crap about former presidents does not mean that he does not deserve recognition. The dude, regardless of his regretful decisions (we have all made them, so let us not talk the language of saints), is talented and innovative. He plays guitar and can sing live. He may be famous for being infamous, but Bieber has been added to most of our mental dictionaries. Yes Brain, it is too late now to say sorry.

12. Kanye West

No, he did not make Taylor famous, he made himself infamous. He may not be everyone’s favorite person, including the fact that he married into a family that isn’t everyone’s favorite, but Yeezy is great when it comes to sampling. Not only do we appreciate some of his songs, but he brings much-deserved spotlight to the remarkable artists before him. We can’t forget Kanye even if we tried. Trust me, I tried!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
