Kacey Musgraves is a Texas-born singer/songwriter who has earned her fame by doing what every one dreams of: being completely unashamed of who she is as a person.
I think it is incredibly important for people to know that there is someone like her out there right now creating music without filtering herself for others. She has a classic 70s era feel, tied with a country bow, but what is so fascinating about her is that her writing really sounds like something you would text your best friend. She sings only about what she knows. Kacey has a talent for writing what other people want to say but can't quite put into words. Everyone can relate to a break-up song, but I've never seen someone be able to relay situations or the thoughts someone in their 20s quite like she can.
